A barnstar for you!

The Barnstar of Diligence
Good work on replacing "Mac OS" links. Codename Lisa (talk) 06:29, 4 October 2016 (UTC)

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Final Cut Pro, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Mac. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

I need your hands to rescue the table by efforts from many people

Well, frankly, someone else destroyed that table badly! So many efforts from many people all over world have been put into vain. That is very unfair! So I need your hand to protect that table or improve it badly! Million thanks in advance! — Preceding unsigned comment added by 221.9.15.82 (talk) 06:35, 11 October 2016 (UTC)

Yes, somebody put a bunch of original research about "generations" of processors into it, with no references; I'll do what I can to make sure it never gets back unless there are reliable sources to support it. Guy Harris (talk) 09:25, 11 October 2016 (UTC)

OS X categories

There are still many categories with “OS X” in the title. Any idea how to proceed there?–Totie (talk) 14:26, 1 October 2016 (UTC)

@Totie: We should probably rename them - many of them probably originally had "Mac OS X" in the title and were renamed to just say "OS X" when the previous name change happened - but some of them are big enough that it'd be Really Useful if there were a way to get some software to update the category to which the pages belong; doing so manually is a bit tedious. I think I've seen some cases where a bot updated pages when a category was removed; any idea how to get that to happen? Guy Harris (talk) 16:58, 3 October 2016 (UTC)
See WP:CATRED. Bots monitor category redirects and move articles accordingly. The only thing that needs to happen is a comprehensive renaming request that covers all categories.–Totie (talk) 17:29, 3 October 2016 (UTC)
