- There is, in fact, a way to add stuff to the end of talk pages instead of editing the whole thing. At the top of every talk page (both article talk pages and user talk pages, like this one) is a little plus sign just to the right of the "edit this page" link. It takes you to a page where you can append text to the end instead of editing the whole page.
- As far as units go, I don't know much about what's preferred, but I don't think there's a way to automatically change them. I did find three links that might help you: these are the guidelines on units in scientific articles. These are the guidelines in general. This is a discussion among Wikipedia users about units. I hope this helps. Dave (talk) 03:21, August 16, 2005 (UTC)

Hi Guslacerda
I can't remember now how I came to hear about Remko Scha. I was adding pages for recipients of the Albert Lasker Award for Basic Medical Research. I must have come across him while searching on the web and decided that he merited a page in Wikipedia. I'm glad you approve! -- Etimbo ( Talk) 22:01, 23 June 2006 (UTC)
I've done some digging and now remember what prompted me to create his page. I came across the article Plural quantification which mentioned his name without a link, so I added an article for him. I really can't remember how I stumbled across Plural quantification though! Cheers -- Etimbo ( Talk) 22:13, 2 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit]Hello, Gustavo! I'm in Minnesota, and hoping to eventually find a better position than what I've got (this is an excellent university and the Twin Cities are an excellent place to live, but my current job has deficiencies). But I should point out that what I did on that article is just copy-editing. I do lots of edits that just bring articles closer to Wikipedia's style conventions. But I also create new articles, as you see from my user page. Good to hear from you. Michael Hardy (talk) 03:35, 6 December 2007 (UTC)
- PS: I see that you're from Recife. Here's something I hadn't thought of before: that must be the easternmost city in the Americas. Michael Hardy (talk) 03:37, 6 December 2007 (UTC)

hi
[edit]Hi. I found you in categories of users who can contribute in English and Portuguese. I myself am a native speaker of English, but I'm well on my way to learning Portuguese. Just check out my user page and talk page, and join in any of the discussions. To keep updated, you can even put a watch on my user page, which will automatically watch my talk page. :-) I see that you're bilingual (English and Portuguese); that is so awesome! learnportuguese (talk) 18:53, 8 February 2008 (UTC)
PlayFair (facilitation)
[edit]A proposed deletion template has been added to the article PlayFair (facilitation), suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}}
notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page. Also, please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. If you agree with the deletion of the article, and you are the only person who has made substantial edits to the page, please add {{db-author}}
to the top of PlayFair (facilitation). SiobhanHansa 09:44, 9 February 2008 (UTC)
PS The above is a template message - it's comprehensive, but not necessarily clear. If you don't understand any of it please feel free to drop me a note at the bottom of my my talk page and I'll try and clarify.
- This article has been prodded again after a short delay at the request of another editor. If you wish to prevent the proposed deletion remove the
{{dated prod}}

Even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. Speedy deletion of Patrick Cavanagh (Scientist)
[edit]A tag has been placed on Patrick Cavanagh (Scientist) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for biographies.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}}
to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the article does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that a copy be emailed to you. Mblumber (talk) 02:38, 5 December 2008 (UTC)
- This is probably one of those cases where the remedy would be to add some specific grounds for notability to the article rather than to delete it. The proper title should be Patrick Cavanagh (scientist), with a lower-case initial s in the parenthesized last word. Michael Hardy (talk) 00:10, 2 July 2010 (UTC)
Articles for deletion nomination of PlayFair (facilitation)
[edit]I have nominated PlayFair (facilitation), an article that you created, for deletion. I do not think that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/PlayFair (facilitation). Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time.

- I noticed you had edited Cognitive science just a few edits before me. :-) I couldn't believe the crap I reverted had been sitting there since 23 May! Is there an easy way to watch for stupid edits? (Not that I'd do this for Wikipedia). ;-) Guslacerda (talk) 23:27, 13 September 2010 (UTC);

You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
