Your changes on 2 (number)
Thanks for adding all the missing references to many number properties... That was a lot of work.
But I would like to know why you changed the third and fifth Perrin numbers. into the second and fourth Perrin numbers, when the page on perrin numbers and the OEIS sequence, both give this list: 3, 0, 2, 3, 2, 5, 5, 7, 10... Although in OEIS, the first index is 0, you would have to name 3 the zeroth Perrin number, and that doesn't sound right. Dhrm77 (talk) 14:09, 6 June 2016 (UTC)
The article 616 (number) has a similar problem. You list 616 as the 29th member of the Padovan sequence, when it looks like it is the 30th member according to OEIS and the 25th member according to wikipedia's Padovan sequence, unless you want to name the first 1 as the zeroth member... Please explain your edits. Dhrm77 (talk) 00:04, 7 June 2016 (UTC)
- 12 was listed as the ninth Perrin number, 17 was listed as the tenth Perrin number, and 39 was listed as the thirteenth, making 3 the zeroth. I tried to make it more consistent by listing 2 as the second and fourth Perrin numbers. The Padovan sequence starts at different places in Wikipedia and OEIS. I thought it would also start at the zeroth number in the OEIS. Gulumeemee (talk) 01:04, 7 June 2016 (UTC) I forgot to check the Wikipedia article on the Padovan sequence to see if the sequence starts in the same place there. Gulumeemee (talk) 03:32, 7 June 2016 (UTC)
- Personally, I don't really like the use of "zeroth number", that just seems wrong...
- Regarding the Padovan sequence, since there doesn't seem to be a consensus regarding where the sequence starts, maybe we shouldn't mention at all the place of any number in that sequence, just saying that it is part of the sequence. What do you think? Dhrm77 (talk) 13:07, 7 June 2016 (UTC)
- I think we can just say that it appears in the Padovan sequence. Gulumeemee (talk) 03:01, 8 June 2016 (UTC)
"ryle number"
Yes, that was vandalism by 24.86.75.141 dating back to 2009: https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=User_talk%3A24.86.75.141&type=revision&diff=306859372&oldid=207227200
That user also vandalised 7 (number) back in 2008 with the same thing, and no explanation.... https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=7_(number)&diff=prev&oldid=207199432
Thanks for fixing that long-standing piece of mis-information. Dhrm77 (talk) 18:14, 15 June 2016 (UTC)
Genetically modified fish
Hi Gulumeemee, I removed this sentence because it was exactly repeated twice in the same paragraph. I judged that the second use of it was unintentional.
"Others have claimed the sterility process has a failure rate of 5%.[34] "
Best, Paul — Preceding unsigned comment added by Peej03 (talk • contribs) 21:30, 21 July 2016 (UTC)
- I removed the sentence. In the future, you can explain your edits in the edit summary. Gulumeemee (talk) 02:38, 22 July 2016 (UTC)
- This discussion should have taken place on the talk page of GMO fish so others can find it (Talk:Genetically_modified_fish). Can one of you move it there, please? In the edit note, it says, "user explained it", but since it is not on the talk page, editors have no idea what explanation was made. So we have to go the extra step to hunt it down to find the explanation here. Yes, I agree the explanation would have been better in the edit note the first time, but since it is not it should go to the article talk page. Thanks. Ping to @Peej03:. --David Tornheim (talk) 23:43, 22 July 2016 (UTC)
- I moved the discussion. Gulumeemee (talk) 04:39, 23 July 2016 (UTC)
Note about a revert you made that was caused by this IP address
This IP address I'm posting from belongs to Sprint Wireless (for their mobile devices). I thought I'd let you know that someone in the past with a mobile device (or an app that did it intentionally) probably had decided to vandalize at some point in time. I'm being kind by posting this (and hoping whoever, or whatever, did this doesn't do it again). Note that I only came on Wikipedia and noticed it today, which is surprising me as I refuse to do such self-centered tasks. 66.87.113.72 (talk) 01:59, 10 August 2016 (UTC)
Note on Joshua Claybourn
I did not create an article about myself. But after seeing someone else did, I provided some cosmetic changes to things such as citation layout, etc. However, I agree that I should avoid editing that page in any way and will refrain in the future.--YHoshua (talk) 13:59, 10 August 2016 (UTC)
Speedy deletion tagging of Vahanchalak
Hello Gulumeemee. You tagged "Vahanchalak" for speedy deletion, but you did not notify the article's creator that it had been so tagged. There is strong consensus that the creators of articles tagged for speedy deletion should be warned and that the person placing the tag has that responsibility. All of the major speedy deletion templates contain a pre-formatted warning for this purpose—just copy and paste to the creator's talk page. Thank you.--Savonneux (talk) 04:33, 16 August 2016 (UTC)
- I will warn creators of articles that I tag for speedy deletion in the future. Gulumeemee (talk) 06:55, 16 August 2016 (UTC)
What do you mean?
I was assigned to format a page as that is my job. What am I doing is not vandalism as I am just formatting a page as requested. Please do not associate me with vandalism as I am not a criminal. Thank You. — Preceding unsigned comment added by IcedMikeTV (talk • contribs) 06:15, 21 August 2016 (UTC)
Why?
Why have you tagged my page to be deleted? that's so unfair!!!! — Preceding unsigned comment added by VoicefanAu (talk • contribs) 10:05, 23 August 2016 (UTC)
- @VoicefanAu: Per Wikipedia:Criteria for speedy deletion, the creator of a page may not remove a speedy deletion tag from it. You have already contested the speedy deletion. An administrator will decide if the page will be deleted. Gulumeemee (talk) 10:11, 23 August 2016 (UTC)
