Welcome!

[edit]

Hello, Guardian212, and welcome to Wikipedia! My name is Shalor and I work with the Wiki Education Foundation; I help support students who are editing as part of a class assignment.

I hope you enjoy editing here. If you haven't already done so, please check out the student training library, which introduces you to editing and Wikipedia's core principles. You may also want to check out the Teahouse, a community of Wikipedia editors dedicated to helping new users. Below are some resources to help you get started editing.

Plagiarism

[edit]

Hello, I received a notification that you had posted material that took material verbatim from content that had previously been published elsewhere to your article. This is seen as a copyright issue and plagiarism, even if you were to include the original source as a citation. Always be careful when writing article content - a good way to avoid doing this is to take notes while reading and write your article from those notes.

Unless the material is explicitly marked as falling into the public domain or was released under a compatible Creative Commons license, it should be assumed that the content is copyrighted in a way that would prohibit it from being used verbatim elsewhere. It's always best to write things in your own words, as this can help prevent issues like this from arising. I would like for you to review the module on plagiarism and copyright, thanks. November 2018

[edit]

Hello, I'm Jim1138. I noticed that you made a change to an article, Cupid, but you didn't provide a source. I’ve removed it for now, but if you’d like to include a citation to a reliable source and re-add it, please do so! If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks. Jim1138 (talk) 04:39, 2 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Please do not add original research or novel syntheses of published material to articles. Please cite a reliable source for all of your contributions. Thank you. Materialscientist (talk) 23:50, 6 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

December 2018

[edit]

I have removed your recent additions to Cupid, for a variety of reasons, which you can see in my edit summary. You are welcome to contribute to the article, but based on the huge number of errors in your text, I need to ask that you please have someone check your work before you submit anything else. Other editors can always fix minor edits, but when nearly every sentence has punctuation, capitalization, grammar, or formatting errors, that's really asking too much of others. Thank you, Jessicapierce (talk) 05:03, 7 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]

I have removed, again, your contributions to this article. It simply isn't anywhere close to being ready to publish. Your text had erratic capitalization, partial sentences, inline external links, broken formatting, unformatted citations, and a link to your own sandbox. I believe your edits are being done in good faith, but they're not a constructive use of your time, or that of other editors. Please don't just keep submitting this broken content again, or it is likely to be viewed as vandalism. Thank you, Jessicapierce (talk) 05:22, 8 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]
