Disused stations
[edit]You can blame me for this idea of linking the disused stations into one article - all those stubs were annoying me! Plymouth Millbay railway station is a rare example of a disused sttaion with its own page, but this is still referenced with a short note on the two local Disused Station pages.
With the Disused stations on the Reading to Taunton line, I would suggest cutting it short at Westbury. Westbury to Castle Cary really falls to the Weymouth line - both in terms of history and modern operations, and there are already rumours of a separate article on the Castle Cary Cut-Off which can have its stations included in it. It also pays not to have too many stations – see the Disused railway stations (Bristol to Exeter Line) for one which is just about on its limit! Geof Sheppard 13:05, 13 September 2007 (UTC)

Fact from Fifteen Guinea Special
[edit]It seems a good start for an article. Do you mind if i nominate a fact from this for WP:DYK? Maybe something like "...that the Fifteen Guinea Special, one of the last British Rail steam services before the steam ban of 1968, was so called because of the high prices from popular demand for it?" Reading to Plymouth Line split
[edit]Hi, earlier in the year you proposed that Reading to Plymouth Line be split into 3 articles but you did not post if you support or oppose the proposal yourself, would you still like to see the split into 3 articles? Are you still interested in taking on this project? It appears to have support. I have posted a suggestion on the talk page that mileages should be calculated via Bristol for Bristol to Exeter and Exeter to Plymouth as they are the official mileages used by railway staff. - Hi, unfortunately RL events have restricted my online time and I'm not able to take a sufficient amount of time to complete a project of this size anywhere in the next 6 months. I would certainly welcome it if someone else could take over completing it since it did have some significant support. After several years of discussion the consensus was to split the Reading to Plymouth Line article into three articles - Bristol to Exeter line, Reading to Taunton line, and Exeter to Plymouth line. The split has now been done, though fairly crudely as I am not an expert on the subject. It will need an expert eye to look at it and smooth out the edges.
