Continued COI editing
[edit]Please discontinue editing articles with which you have a Conflict of Interest WP:COI. You have already been warned numerous times about this. Netherzone (talk) 23:16, 26 July 2020 (UTC)
- Netherzone It was a minor edit to add a date to a photograph. I am sure from reading COI page, this is allowed.--Greg Henderson (talk) 23:20, 26 July 2020 (UTC)
- Not just that article. Netherzone (talk) 23:23, 26 July 2020 (UTC)
- Netherzone Got it. Just to be clear, the WP:COIU guidelines say editors who have a general COI may make unambiguously uncontroversial edits. They may:
- remove spam and unambiguous vandalism,
- remove unambiguous violations of the biography of living persons policy,
- fix spelling and grammatical errors,
- repair broken links,
- remove their own COI edits." --Greg Henderson (talk) 16:08, 31 July 2020 (UTC)

[edit]Hello, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. This is just a note to let you know that I've moved the draft that you were working on to Draft:Electus Comfort, from its old location at User:Greghenderson2006/sandbox. This has been done because the Draft namespace is the preferred location for Articles for Creation submissions. Please feel free to continue to work on it there. If you have any questions about this, you are welcome to ask me on my talk page. Thank you. Nathan2055talk - contribs 17:44, 19 August 2020 (UTC)

- Graywalls I think it is interesting that you continue to choose to select articles that I have written and try to delete them. Looks like you have voted to delete 181 articles based on AfD Statistics. You even tried to delete my user page! I would like to work with you on being a better WP editor. In the beginning I did focus on family members that I thought were notable. At that time I did not understand WP:COI requirements as much as I do now. I think I have made some good contributions to WP. Perhaps instead of putting an article up for AfD, you could communicate first and let the editor have a chance to show why the article is notable. Case in point is the William Helm article. There are many secondary sources about William Helm being a notable as the largest individual sheep farmer and early pioneer of Fresno County, California. It seems unreasonable to pick this article for deletion when it (a) has secondary sources, (b) has been around since 2009, (c) has 121 pageviews per month with over 1,451 page views! From COI editor: --Greg Henderson (talk) 16:30, 31 August 2020 (UTC)
- I understand that you have declared a COI with respect to William Helm, but I frankly don't understand how a COI can exist at all with a person who has been dead for a hundred years, and has no persisting commercial interests. BD2412 T 16:14, 2 September 2020 (UTC)
- BD2412, Good question. I've been told that I must declare COI with any family relatives. User, Graywalls, is very insistent about this. His is a great-grandparent on my wife's side. --Greg Henderson (talk) 17:35, 2 September 2020 (UTC)
- That's ridiculous. Everyone is related to some degree. There is no conflict of interest absent some actual advantage to be gained by posting the article, which is clearly not the case here. BD2412 T 17:47, 2 September 2020 (UTC)
- Thank your for your support. Graywalls feels that because I have self-published books and a website about my ancestry, it may be a violation with WP:NOTHERE, WP:SPS, and WP:MIRROR. I have had to put a notice on these documents to avoid any copyright issues. So his concern with this type of "copyright donation" of personal website content is that it may impart the point of view of the website and may not a WP:POV. Sorry about all the WP acronyms, but I've had to learn them! I happen to enjoy writing about noteworthy people that I have researched. Having this information in an encyclopedia where others can enjoy is nice too. --Greg Henderson (talk) 20:21, 2 September 2020 (UTC)
- Incidentally, the reason I have my eye on this article is because I coincidentally have a draft underway at Draft:William Henry Helm. No relation, obviously. BD2412 T 23:42, 3 September 2020 (UTC)
- T, Thanks for the info. I took a look at your draft and would like to make some suggestions. Please let me know the best way to provide them? --Greg Henderson (talk) 00:46, 4 September 2020 (UTC)
- It's not really a "draft" yet, so much as a collection of quotes from sources. It's at a pretty early stage. Please feel free to edit it, or to comment on it here, or on the talk page there. BD2412 T 02:38, 4 September 2020 (UTC)

Links to draft articles
[edit]Please do not introduce links in actual articles to draft articles, as you did to List of Northeastern U. S. Pilot Boats. Since a draft is not yet ready for the main article space, it is not in shape for ordinary readers, and links from articles should not go to a draft. Such links are contrary to the Manual of Style. These links have been removed. Thank you. - Arjayay (talk) 08:47, 3 October 2020 (UTC)
