[edit]Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Greater scaup, you added links pointing to the disambiguation pages Drake and Vermiculated. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. WikiProjects (We want you)!
[edit]Hi Gould363! I noticed your recent edits to Colony (biology) and Diphtheria toxin and wanted to say hi and reach out to you! When I was looking for places to be useful on Wikipedia, I found WikiProjects to be good banners to rally under. You mentioned on your userpage that you have a background in molecular biology, and so I'm sure WP Molecular and Cell Biology would be happy to have you on board. Or, perhaps if you've got a bit of time, you could come help out at Wikipedia:WikiProject Microbiology! It's a bit quiet at the moment, but I'm hoping that we could get it up and running again! The microbiology articles could certainly use a bit of TLC! We've got 1,179 articles which are tagged with some kind of issue (everything from citations needed, to reference formatting errors, to orphaned articles). Plus a couple thousand stubs which could use some loving. So anyway, if you're looking for a fun way to pass the hours, I hope you'll consider helping out. Of course, you can certainly work on whatever articles you'd like without joining any WikiProjects. And if you don't want to join, we can still be friends. I just thought I'd say hello and extend a hand. Happy editing!! Ajpolino (talk) 01:30, 5 February 2016 (UTC)
- Hi! Thanks for the note. I'm a little short on time at the moment, but I expect I'll be looking for trouble sometime soon. I'll see what I can do! Gould363 (talk) 04:17, 7 February 2016 (UTC)

Mudéjar
[edit]The Alcazar of Seville was originally a Moorish building but it was rebuilt by Christian architects in the Mudejar style during the era of Peter of Castile. And yes, the Mudéjar style was rarely built by Muslims. Moorish architecture is called Moorish, instead the Mudéjar is a Christian style ressembling the Moorish. If do you want read the Alcazar of Seville article and its references--BrugesFR (talk) 03:03, 3 July 2018 (UTC)
- Hi, BrugesFR. Thanks for your note.
- The Palace of Pedro I was built in large part by Moorish artisans sent by the sultan of Granada. See, eg, Ruggles, D. Fairchild. "The Alcazar of Seville and Mudejar Architecture," doi:10.2307/25067097: "After Muhammad, who had lived at the Seville Alcazar while in exile from 1359 to 1362, was restored to his throne, he sent artisans from Granada to Seville to work on the Alcazar for Pedro." That is why we need to be careful to avoid a blanket claim that Mudéjar works were built by Christians. They may have been built under Christian rule, or for Christian purposes, or at the behest of Christian patrons. But, in the considerable period before the expulsion of the Moriscos, the architects and artisans may have been Muslim.Gould363 (talk) 02:23, 7 July 2018 (UTC)
Hi Gould, the Alcázar was built in the time of Peter of Castile in part by Granadan Moriscos but also by Toledan and Sevillian artists and they were maybe Christians, I say it because at that time already had been reconquered for many years Toledo and also Seville and were important Christian cities at that time. There are Mudejar constructions that were built by Moors, also others by Christians. there are even cases in which built buildings architects of the three cultures, Moorish, Christian and Jewish working together, a important example is the Leaning Tower of Zaragoza--BrugesFR (talk) 06:10, 7 July 2018 (UTC)
