Race for Life
[edit]Hallo GGA: Where did you get your info about Race for Life being open to men to participate in 2008? The official website says: "Our goals for 2008: Next year we hope to bring together an incredible 755,000 fundraising women to raise even more money to help beat cancer." and gives no indication of any change of policy. Response
[edit]Has been in the Daily Mirror, also one of my relatives works for the fund. Thankyou --Gothgirlangel1981 (talk) 17:12, 18 December 2007 (UTC)
- I just searched the Daily Mirror webpage and could not find any information to support the claim. Also, on wikipedia, we cannot use word of mouth, or insider relative information as sources. Please see WP:RS. Also, wikipedia cannot be the first place to publish information (per WP:NOR). We must be able to verify all content on wikipedia, and the idea that men are not allowed to race is as of yet, unverified, and therefor, inappropriate for wikipedia. I hope you understand. Once the official site updates it's information, or if we have a citation from a reliable media source, then we can change the information. Just not before hand. I hope you understand. Thanks for your consideration.-Andrew c [talk] 17:49, 18 December 2007 (UTC)
- Reverting to a controversial, unsourced form on an article against the wishes of multiple editors in good standing is a form of disruptive editing. Please, instead of reinserting the controversial content, try to address my concerns and take up your proposal on the talk page. Do not re-insert the disputed content without forming a consensus for the inclusion. Editing warring gets you no where.-Andrew c [talk] 22:27, 18 December 2007 (UTC)
- Hallo GGA, you've again put incorrect info which goes against the info on the current official Race for Life website. I've reverted it, while updating the link to point to FAQ number 1 on the 2008 official site: "1. Why is Race for Life for women only?". It can't be much clearer than that. Your editing here seems disruptive. Please don't change it again. Thanks. PamD (talk) 15:50, 11 February 2008 (UTC)

Girl Guiding and Girl Scouting & Boy Scout
[edit]I have reversed your edits because most co-ed Scouting organizations work (more) the "Boy Scout" way. Only Greece and some South American countries are the exception. It is almost impossible to get those first lines correct for 100% of the Scouting organizations and in this way it is correct for something like 90% of the Scouting organizations. --Egel Reaction? 09:23, 11 February 2008 (UTC)
Well then you need to remove that paragraph from the Boy Scout article, sorry - you cannot have one saying one thing and the other not - that is either sexist or incorrect. --Gothgirlangel1981 (talk) 15:18, 11 February 2008 (UTC)
Can you please tell me, where I can find that "Girlguiding UK" and "Girl Scouts of the USA" is open for boys?

Ball girls
[edit]How much do you know about tennis? Not much apparently. There are ball boys. And there are ball girls. Stop vandalizing the tennis article. Tennis expert (talk) 17:25, 11 February 2008 (UTC)
- Excuse me they are called "Ball Kids" that is how they refer to them on the TV - and that comment saying "I don't know much about tennis" is extremely harsh and rude. --Gothgirlangel1981 (talk) 17:28, 11 February 2008 (UTC)
- Just noticing this conversation and chipping in ... I've never heard the term "ball kids", but the Wimbledon tennis site talks about "ball boys and ball girls", at http://www.wimbledon.org/en_GB/about/guide/ballboys.html , which must be pretty definitive at least for UK usage. [edit]You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war. Note that the three-revert rule prohibits making more than three reversions in a content dispute within a 24 hour period. Additionally, users who perform a large number of reversions in content disputes may be blocked for edit warring, even if they do not technically violate the three-revert rule. If you continue, you may be blocked from editing. Please do not repeatedly revert edits, but use the talk page to work towards wording and content that gains a consensus among editors. If necessary, pursue dispute resolution. Haemo (talk) 20:51, 11 February 2008 (UTC)
Male Prostitution
[edit]Hi Gothgirl. I have updated links in Prostitution article. Hope that answers any queries. Cheers. IdreamofJeanie (talk) 14:41, 23 February 2008 (UTC)
BSA
[edit]Regardless of whether it is the largest male youth organization, it is still one of the largest youth organizations overall. There is no need to add the word male. Please stop. Prodego talk 22:51, 23 February 2008 (UTC)
Sockpuppetry case
[edit]You have been accused of sockpuppetry. Please refer to Wikipedia:Suspected sock puppets/Gothgirlangel1981 for evidence. Please make sure you make yourself familiar with notes for the suspect before editing the evidence page. — Rlevse • Talk • 01:57, 24 February 2008 (UTC)
- The evidence of sockpuppetry looks very convincing. Indef blocking sock, and 24 hour block for the master. Dreadstar † 03:15, 24 February 2008 (UTC)
