Unspecified source for Image:IBSS_Logo.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:IBSS_Logo.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, then you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, then their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 03:57, 14 December 2007 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Jusjih (talk) 03:57, 14 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Pole, Hungarian, two good friends

[edit]

Hi, Goethicus. Thanks very much four your contribution to the Pole, Hungarian, two good friends page. I'm confused, because your additions are about Hungarians-Szeklers, rather than Hungarians-Poles. True, this reflects a study in the linked reference. I don't understand what happened (it was not me who wrote the original chapter). Is it possible that the chapter about the genetic link originally had a different source? Or the Hungarian-Pole link is buried somewhere in the linked source? Either choice it is, perhaps it would be better to write about the Hungarian-Polish link or non-link in this article, otherwise readers will be confused over how the Szeklers come into the picture. Regards, -- 18:47, 31 July 2009 (UTC)

Hi, it's possible that whoever quoted originally quoted the article as positing a strong genetic link between Poles and Hungarians didn't understand it, or it may be that they misquoted it intentionally for ideological reasons. Thanks for your corrections. --7:44, 4 Aug 2009 (GST)

copyvio

[edit]

I am concerned that you apparently copied the entry for International Bibliography of the Social Sciences from the company's website--I accidentally discovered this while working on some recent entries for journals. Not only is this a copyright violation, but it gave the article a somewhat promotional tone. I rewrote the article just now, and updated--Proquest purchased it from LSE a few days ago. We need more articles on databases,. but even a stub is preferable to a copyvio. DGG ( talk ) 02:30, 19 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Jan Dzierzon

[edit]

Rowniez tu (http://bees.library.cornell.edu/cgi/t/text/text-idx?c=bees;idno=5017629) angielskie tlumaczenie pracy Dzierzona podaje Dzierżon, Jan. Czy skontaktowales sie z museum w Kluczborku, albo przeczytales dowody i fotokopie w podanych pracach Brozka, Gladysza i ks. Mazaka? Pomijanie zrodel polskich jest niedopuszczalne. Ci ktorzy chca zmieniac artykul powinni uznac wage zrodel polskich wage a nie lawirowac na drugorzednych przekladach i niepelnych zrodlach. Podane tez sa wspolczesne artykuly w prasie polskiej i napisane przez Polakow. Trzeba je wniesc do tekstu.

Mazaka etc. --Soujdspo (talk) 02:01, 12 April 2010 (UTC) --Soujdspo (talk) 02:45, 12 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Art Nouveau, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Pan (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
