Manchuria, Manchu articles
[edit]Good work on keeping an eye out for vandalism on those 2 articles, I'm pretty certain that User:Breathejustice and 192.35.79.70 are the same person. If all else fails in convincing him/her to stop their vandalism, you always file a request for comment (Rfc) with the moderators. Abstrakt 22:06, 19 July 2006 (UTC)
- Thanks for replying back, if you could do me a favor, and vote on the deletion of BreatheJustice's image Wikipedia:Images_and_media_for_deletion/2006_July_19#July_19, oh and as for keeping an eye on the articles, I don't have the time to watch it for most of the day and have contacted some Wikipedia administrators about the problems. Breathejustice, 67.38.247.32, and 192.35.79.70 are pretty pesky as they have repeatedly vandalizing these 2 articles for most of the day. Abstrakt 22:56, 19 July 2006 (UTC)
Is there any reason you de-gallerized the images here? I like the pictures, but putting them all inline with the article causes some nasty layout issues. Zetawoof(ζ) 15:43, 24 July 2006 (UTC)
Thanks
[edit]User:Breathejustice just does not know when to stop. But s/he keeps on adding the same info over and over again. I applaud him/her for their national pride, but this is getting ridiculous.
If you refer to the Jin and Silla section of the Jin Dynasty talk page, I even stated how I felt the info should stay, but (rewritten and with sources) placed on the Jurchen page. (!Mi luchador nombre es amoladora de la carne y traigo el dolor! 20:25, 5 September 2006 (UTC))
- Godardesque, I would be happy to keep the whole discussion on Silla and Manchuria out of the way. So good job. Wikipedia should not be the forum for nationalist pop history. --Niohe 20:44, 5 September 2006 (UTC)
- User:Breathejustice has blatantly forsaken his/her wikipedia account for the ip address 69.210.209.211. I've reverted his/her edits countless times and it is really starting to get on my nerves. Depsite his/her info being cited, I don’t feel it is correct. Heck, even a portion of his/her cited source is wrong! It mentions "The name of Qing dynasty founder was Hambo". This is incorrect because Hung Taiji, 8th son and heir of Nurhaci, founded the Qing in 1636.
- S/he keeps on reverting the page on the grounds that his/her source is cited and that the history of the Jin founder should be covered. I agree on the last part, but since his/her info is not readily excepted by me, you, and just about everyone else, It should be rewritten on the Jurchen page with proper english grammar under the heading of “Possible Origin(s)”, or something like that. Even if the info is incorrect, it seems to come from a book of sorts. We can't ignore the info. It should just be presented in a way that newcommers won't read it and take it on the spot as historcial fact. One thing we could put is, "the claims of this book are not widely accepted by the academic community" or something else. What do you think?
- I keep on trying to tell them that the Jin dynasty page is about the Empire and not the Jurchen people, but s/he won’t listen. I mean if I wanted to add a huge paragraph about the Chinese people on every Chinese dynasty page, I would get booted out of wikipedia for being a NUT!
- I have sent vandalism warnings to User:Breathejustice’s page twice today. If s/he does it again, I will give him a final warning and then I will put his/her name on the Vandalism page for possible blockage. You must learn about the Jurchens' history
[edit]You even do not know what the Jurchens are. Firstly read the history books of China that are cited.
Oh, please. You and your old pals has been vandalize these articles for ages, and you think we don't know? Cite proper references in English and learn to write better first. And sign your name please, so I'll know which of Breathejustice, User:69.210.209.211, User:68.250.52.50 & User:68.252.34.42 is you. --Godardesque 20:50, 5 September 2006 (UTC)
- I just posted a response to you on my talk page. --Niohe 23:56, 5 September 2006 (UTC)
- The original chinese history book is the best source of chinese history. Isn't it? How dare you can say I have vandalized, even though you can not read the ORIGINAL chinese history book?
Sign your name please, so I can know who this "person" is that I'm responding to. The "Original Chinese history" book you keep referring to is highly speculated by many other users, and you can't provide an electronic source. Since you can't write your contributions properly, that is why these contents has to be taken off.--Godardesque 06:16, 7 September 2006 (UTC)
They are speculated by chinese nationalists. Why dont you go to library to borrow the books. Chinese history books are not generally available on internet. but, the Jin dynasty book is available on internet... it is already linked!!! You even do not read the text carefully.
- Anonymous, you are not supposed to conduct original research in Wikipedia. Whether a book published during the Qianlong reign can say anything defintitive on the origins of the Jurchen more than five hundred years earlier is open to interpretation and this is not the venue for that kind of discussion. I have checked out a number of books on the Jin, and I have found nothing, I repeat, nothing that supports your view. I am open for argument, but you need to do more of an effort to convince me and other contributors. --Niohe 17:57, 7 September 2006 (UTC)
- I was wondering if this person could just sign his/her name when discussing with us? I think he/she has used many other user names to vandalize these articles (such as this new one 68.252.33.163), and its getting very tiresome that he is acting like a troll. --Godardesque 19:01, 7 September 2006 (UTC)
Straw poll
[edit]Since all attempts have been made to reach an agreement with User:Breathejustice (and his sock puppets) regarding his countless reverts and incorrect info, I've started a straw poll survey here. It will be used to determine whether the info should stay or be deleted. If, in a week or two, the problem is not resolved, I will be asking for mediation from administrators. This will eventually lead to arbitration! (!Mi luchador nombre es amoladora de la carne y traigo el dolor! 05:42, 8 September 2006 (UTC))
- The reason I started the poll was because Breathejustice was technically not vandalizing the page by wikipedia's standards (although I think he is). I read up on some stuff and this is the only way this is going to be resolved. If after the poll is completed and he continues to add the info, I will ask for mediation. If that doens't work, I will move onto the arbitration committee who will resolve the problem if-so-fact-o!
- However, if he continues to add the info after the arbitration is complete, THEN he is vandalizing. We could drop a note to the administrators saying he is using multiple sock puppets to get around a "final warning", which is what I sent him the other day. I don't want to play the game, but it's either this way or we constantly waste time on deleting his posts. (!Mi luchador nombre es amoladora de la carne y traigo el dolor! 15:57, 8 September 2006 (UTC))
I found another overexaggerated map Image:Baekje power.jpg, and it's up for deletion here. This map shows overexaggerated borders for Baekje, similar to Goguryeo h.gif we saw on July 19. Please comment or vote for/against deletion there. Thank you.--Endroit 14:22, 23 October 2006 (UTC)
An editor has nominated one or more articles which you have created or worked on, for deletion. The nominated article is Wikipedia. We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also Wikipedia:Notability and "What Wikipedia is not").
Your opinions on whether the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome; please participate in the discussion(s) by adding your comments to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Wikipedia (4th nomination). Please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~).
You may also edit the article during the discussion to improve it but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate.
Please note: This is an automatic notification by a bot. I have nothing to do with this article or the deletion nomination, and can't do anything about it. --Erwin85Bot (talk) 01:04, 2 April 2010 (UTC)
