OK, I'm not a stalker, I promise, but...

I was reading your userpage, and clicked on your "/" subpages, and noticed that you, like me, are a "recovering junior high teacher". I taught middle school, (grade 6, all subjects, plus grade 8 math) for several years. It's been 6 years since I "moved on", but still, I get shivers thinking about the little demons students. I'm not sure why butter makes someone furious....who added that? Anywho, new users show up all the time that are amazingly capable editors. Many times, its as the result of utilizing our keen right to vanish feature. We're allowed to leave, and come back. However, only the ones that are serious about wanting to "disappear" come back as n00bs, not as ANI and RFA contributors. Time will tell, you're right, no need to fish. More Funding Vandalizers

There is a user who keeps adding Kellogg's Rice Krispies and Chuck E. Cheese's as funders to The Magic School Bus, which they are not. I have deleted the false information at least twice, but the user keeps on putting it back in the article. His username is 71.130.199.34. You could be right. Interesting, because I always thought the account was a variation on Wikipedia:Long term abuse#Disney/Barney vandal but the IP would indicate that it's not. Cheers. There used to be several named accounts vandalising Barney, etc. but they all got blocked. They were similiar to Daniel Juravsky in that they never responded to any comments, ever. Re: talk page reverts

Gladys, I don't see anything controversial about reverting edits of that sort or of the sort I just reverted myself. The anon editor in question (assuming it's all the same person, which seems likely but can't really be known) is not making good faith contributions to a discussion intended to improve the article. Granted, discussions may often veer away from that goal, and it would be pretty bad form to reflexively revert any comment based on a strict interpretation of talk-page guidelines...but this particular situation doesn't seem like it falls in that grey area. This keeps coming up (and up and up and up...) - and seems to match the profile: a username with letters and numbers and a pattern of subtle and long-undetected vandalism/hoaxes to TV-related articles. Re your message: Thanks for the explanation on why the IP was targetting Teletubbies. I thought it was just a normal target of silly vandalism like other popular kid things seem to be, but I see now that it is more extensive than that. Your comments about my comments about the Wishbone (TV series) reverts.

Hey, Gladys, I'm just stopping by to let you know that I got your message on my talk page. I'm replying here because I'm not sure if you would see a reply I post on my talk page. It could very well be I'm assuming way too much good faith on the part of this user. I've been on all four ends of the "good faith spectrum." That is, I have assumed too much good faith in the past, and I have also not assumed enough good faith as well. Likewise, I've had people that have assumed too much good faith on my part, and have also assumed too little good faith on my part. I'm still attempting to find a middle ground. However, the last time I didn't use "soft soap" in making corrective comments towards an editor, I was chastised right back for correcting an incorrect point that in the other editor's opinion did not need to be corrected. So, whenever I have felt the need to correct an editor since that time, I find that the soft approach works best. If that means I assume too much good faith, then I guess it's time to revamp the procedure I use when making corrections. I myself can't stand vandals either and have very little use or tolerance for them. So, in general, I do try to fix the problem first and explain later, and in general, I have been a lot harsher in corrective comments. But this time, I felt a need to tone it down just a bit because of the last experience I had correcting someone. That time, I rather harshly suggested that if all they were doing was vandalizing pages that they should take it somewhere else where it would be tolerated. Surprisingly enough, it didn't go over very well. Though I was following WP policy, I got a terse message in response to the effect that if I wanted a page to be run MY way, I should start my own online encyclopedia, and that way it could say whatever I wanted it to say. It has been my experience here at WP that some editors get their noses out of joint if soft soap is not used in corrective patterns. It has also been my experience that even vandals deserve soft soap. For even if we ASSUME that the edits were not in good faith, there's still the outside chance that they were. And if they were, in that case, those not using soft soap tend to look pretty silly. Who doesn't look silly with egg on their face? I agree with you 100% that this guy does need the kind of strong dose of what you prescribed, but in order to get it, he'll have to go to another pharmacist that can stomach that kind of thing. As for me myself, I would 100 times prefer assuming too much good faith over not assuming enough good faith. I'm explaining all this to you so that you understand what my mind frame was when I made that comment. I'll take your comment under advisement and try to strike a better balance between assuming too much good faith and not assuming enough good faith. In the meantime, for further clarification of what I tried to say here, you can either shoot me a message on my talk page (as I don't habitually check other users' talk pages) or leave a comment for me on the Talk:Wishbone (TV series) page under the appropriate section. We Have A Problem...

I have asked the supervisors to semi-protect the Super Why pages in light of the continuing "vandalism" and redos from non-registered users and that only registered users be allowed to edit this page. Leaving half the conversation there is an invitation to arguing, restoration, whatnot. Better to remove anything. Trash is not really directed at you personally, but the whole back-forth sniping - which is a terribly way to greet someone new. All of it was bitey - some far more so than others, but still ... unprofessional. The situation is now very well resolved and no egg exists on our face. I'm sorry if I offended you, this was not my intent. Realistically, there are already ~1000 middle school students running amok through Wikipedia with little to no guidance, and unless they actually misbehave, nothing's going to be done about them anyways.
