Welcome

[edit]

Hello, Gjamal, and welcome to Wikipedia. Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are a few good links for newcomers:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! By the way, you can sign your name on Talk and vote pages using three tildes, like this: ~~~. Four tildes (~~~~) produces your name and the current date. If you have any questions, see the help pages, add a question to the village pump or ask me on my talk page. Again, welcome!

PS: Please do not add commercial links (or links to your own private websites) to Wikipedia. Wikipedia is not a vehicle for advertising or a mere collection of external links. You are, however, encouraged to add content instead of links to the encyclopedia. See the welcome page to learn more. Thanks. -Willmcw 06:46, 5 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Drafting

[edit]

Many users create "sandboxes" when drafting new articles. For example, User talk:Gjamal/sandbox. If you click on that link you'll get a blank page that you can use. If the article has categories please don't link them until the article is posted in the main space, otherwise your sandbox will appear oin the category listings. Let me know if you have any other questions. ·:· Will Beback ·:· 18:30, 26 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

TN-1 Visa Application Mistakes to Avoid

[edit]

That's a nice piece of writing, and I'm sure there are many people who would find it useful. However it's not appropriat content for Wikipedia. Wikipedia articles should describe a topic, not provide advice or tell readers how to do something. A good listing of the things that Wikipedia is not is at Wikipedia:What Wikipedia is not. The most relevant section is WP:NOT#GUIDE. As that section mentions, there are sister projects with different missions, including one for how-to guides. One of those would be a better place for the article than here. ·:· Will Beback ·:· 05:17, 6 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
