Stop rejecting this fact, please. He was born in Belarus and he had belarusian ancestors. Свабодны Чалавек (talk) 18:17, 2 November 2022 (UTC)

Wikipedia:Dispute resolution noticeboard
Please note that I have set up a section related to the Talk:World War II reparations dispute regarding the two sentences on the 1970 treaty talks and the 2004 declaration by the Council of Ministers on the Wikipedia:Dispute resolution noticeboard. E-960 (talk) 14:45, 3 November 2022 (UTC)

RE this, I'm not an admin. Tamzin is the one who made the block. — Red-tailed hawk (nest) 05:54, 7 November 2022 (UTC)
- Yes I know...sorry about that... it’s a problematic block unfortunately. - GizzyCatBella🍁 05:58, 7 November 2022 (UTC)
If you meant what I think you meant
(comment in non-admin capacity) 192 (aka "the Oxford IP") has been around for quite some time, and I would be very surprised if they're any of our mutual friends. -- Tamzin[cetacean needed] (she|they|xe) 22:20, 7 November 2022 (UTC)

- PS - This drama should end soon. I'm so sorry you had to go through this spectacle @Tamzin (😔) . (I honestly do) Mistakes happen, please don't worry about this too much. Keep up the good work, I truly feel you are a sound admin. Thank you for being one. - GizzyCatBella🍁 23:08, 7 November 2022 (UTC)
- Thanks, Bella. I'm fine, really. Despite the appearance to the contrary in the form of the block at issue, criticism doesn't get to me much, unless it strikes on certain personal chords (and "you're a bad admin" isn't one of them). The main thing getting to me here, honestly, is being mad at myself. A rabbi once told me, at a time when I was in a very dark place, that guilt can be constructive but shame is always destructive. Any time I make a mistake, I try to remember that. So not much left to do other than wait things out and learn from my mistakes going forward. -- Tamzin[cetacean needed] (she|they|xe) 23:31, 7 November 2022 (UTC)

Why the sniping remark?
What am I supposed to make out of this reply? Most of it is not really relevant to the discussion (unless you know which source the OP had in mind, which I don't) and is simply not necessary. Please quit that sniping at me, particularly in places where mentioning this arguably contentious topic area (you-know-which) is not needed. It's just annoying af. Szmenderowiecki (talk) 21:19, 11 November 2022 (UTC)
- Oh, I'm so sorry Szmenderowiecki. I didn't intend to annoy anyone. But you are mistaken, my comment was totally (%100) relevant to the discussion. Now. Could you, please, be kind and depart from my talk page? (for now) Thank you. - GizzyCatBella🍁 00:11, 12 November 2022 (UTC)

Lviv
I have reverted your revert at Lviv because all that foreign language clutter violates WP:LEADLANG where only one (optional) foreign language version is permitted. The discussion over whether or not to add "Lvov" is a separate issue and it can be added if the RfC wants it (but not the Russian language form). The only foreign language entry in the lead sentence should be the optional use of the Ukrainian form per WP:LEADLANG. Personally I don't have a strong opinion over whether "Lvov" should be added, but all the foreign language matter cluttering up the readability against WP:LEADLANG was the real point of my edit. TaivoLinguist (Taivo) (talk) 00:27, 16 November 2022 (UTC)
I saw you reverted the edit at https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Henry_Hudson&curid=44014&diff=1122467795&oldid=1119823934 due to sock-puppetry. As best I can tell it is a good edit, so plan to restore the content unless there is a reason I shouldn't. meamemg (talk) 21:49, 17 November 2022 (UTC)
- @Meamemg - no problem but please confirm the source. - GizzyCatBella🍁 22:30, 17 November 2022 (UTC)
- (talk page stalker) I verified and (mostly) restored that. Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| reply here 13:47, 21 November 2022 (UTC)
Criticism of Encyclopedia of Ukraine
You make good points at WP:RSN. I recommend adding a "criticism" section to the Encyclopedia of Ukraine, based on [1] and anything else you found. Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| reply here 13:44, 21 November 2022 (UTC)
- @Piotrus Yeah, I think that’s need to be done. - GizzyCatBella🍁 15:47, 21 November 2022 (UTC)

A historical perspective
Soviet propaganda labeled all anti-Soviet resistance fighters as "Nazi": those in Baltic states, Finland, Poland, Ukraine and of course Russians. Now Russian/Putinist propaganda used the same for justifying the invasion of Ukraine. But I am fed up with this and will leave it to community. My very best wishes (talk) 12:37, 21 November 2022 (UTC)
- @My very best wishes - I think you should resume voicing your opinion on corresponding pages as it is, in my view, very valuable. - GizzyCatBella🍁 15:46, 21 November 2022 (UTC)
- OK, I can try. My very best wishes (talk) 16:41, 21 November 2022 (UTC)
- @My very best wishes - Russian propaganda is exploiting the circumstances to the maximum, I'm aware of that. That is painful. In the case of Ukraine, I believe the sooner all Ukrainians completely reject Banderism, the better for the Ukrainian cause. Ukrainians will not get far with OUN-B on their banners because it's legacy will always hunt them down. Sadly, some of them don’t get that. - GizzyCatBella🍁 17:17, 21 November 2022 (UTC)
- Well, I would be a lot more concerned about what is happening with people during the ongoing war in Ukraine. Once I met with someone from Mongolia. She was very proud of Genghis Khan, probably the most prolific mass murderer in human history. Does that hunt Mongolian people down? Just to be honest, she was a very nice person, and it did not matter for me that she liked Genghis Khan. Unfortunately, I can not say the same about people who support Stalin in Russia. Maybe that's because this is a much closer history (so I understand what you are saying), and of course they are not nice people. My very best wishes (talk) 18:00, 21 November 2022 (UTC)
- As about the legacy of Bandera and Ukrainian Insurgent Army as a force that fought against the Soviet Empire, I am sure it will increase in Ukraine due to the ongoing war, and I would not be the judge. My very best wishes (talk) 20:50, 21 November 2022 (UTC)
- There are various pages in WP where a conflict of two peoples/ethnic groups play a role. In such cases I dislike contributors who consider themselves belonging to one of these groups and place or enforce negative content about another. This is the reason I commented about banned user I. (you know about) in the past. But I would not do it any more. My very best wishes (talk) 17:25, 23 November 2022 (UTC)

Thank you for your attempts to bring this very wide conversation back to what I think is the core issue: some people's discomfort with pointing out the Nazi links, combined with reliable sources doing exactly that. CT55555 (talk) 16:19, 24 November 2022 (UTC)
