Stale talk page discussions
[edit]Discussions on talk pages are usually conducted in a near-real-time way. Ordinarily there is no point in replying to questions that are more than a few days old. Jc3s5h (talk) 02:57, 7 September 2012 (UTC)
Unacceptable behavior
[edit]Comments like this is [1] is completely unacceptable at Wikipedia. It does not matter if you're right or wrong, you never have the right to offend other users. Please read WP:CIVIL and WP:NPA.Jeppiz (talk) 17:48, 18 March 2013 (UTC)
- Exactly. Treating fellow editors in this manner WILL get you blocked. If you want to be treated with respect, you have to give it, and ask the editor to explain their actions in a civil manner. As Jeppiz points out, it doesn't matter if you are right or wrong, it only matters how you conduct yourself. How you just recently conducted yourself is unacceptable, please don't do that again or you force me to block you from editing. Dennis Brown - 2¢ © Join WER 17:52, 18 March 2013 (UTC)

Ok, before we do any changes to article, lets discuss the changes here. Varsei can be added. However what I think is much more relevant and should be done by someone with knowledge of the topic is to translate the article it:Dialetto vercellese to the English wiki. ideally at Varsei dialect. The Brano in the Italian article is too long and not really helpful, but a few examples of how the dialect of Vercelli differs from the ones around it would be helpful. Also - the best way to establish a topic as relevant in wikipedia is to start with an article about it (in this case the Varsei dialect article) and then link from Vercelli etc to it and begin to weave the things together. Now - Son un Alto Atesino e dei dialetti piemontesi non mi intendo - ma se vuoi che ti aiuto a crear l'articolo sul dialetto sono disposto ad aiutarti. noclador (talk) 22:31, 19 March 2013 (UTC)
- Don't revert the article all the time! The article is about Vercelli - who speaks what is not relevant to the Vercelli article - add that to the future article about the dialect! noclador (talk) 22:33, 19 March 2013 (UTC)
- Surely we can write something? It at least deserves to be pointed out that Vercellese exists and that it's a dialect of Piedmontese, and that not everyone in Vercelli speaks Italian?
Vercelli
[edit]The article Vercelli has now been locked until the ongoing content dispute over additional/alternate names can be resolved. I have summarised what I interpreted (having read material on relevant user talk pages) as being the substantive points of contention. Your comments/suggestions/civilised contributions there would be appreciated. Please see Talk:Vercelli. Cheers, Stalwart111 08:21, 20 March 2013 (UTC)
