Sticerom

[edit]

You have a question on your user page about an old inn in Bucharest. You wrote it 'Sticlerom' (a sensible mistake if you ask me), but it's real name is Sticerom; Sticerom is a Romanian company and among it's specialties are crystal, porcelain and Gallé type articles. The building in your picture is built in 1857 and is part of Curtea sticlarilor or The Yard of Glass Blowers (of course you may find a better translation than this one - i'm not a native English speaker). It's situated on Strada Şelarilor or Saddle-makers' Street. I hope this helps. Giuseppe86 14:40, 1 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks on the Sticlerom => Sticerom correction; what I'm trying to find out, though, is the historic name of the building, that is, when it was an inn. - Jmabel | Talk 16:57, 1 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Oh and one more thing - the name of one of the churches on your page isn't spelled Creţulescu, but Kretzulescu. Giuseppe86 14:49, 1 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I've seen it both ways. Google "Biserica Creţulescu" or ""Biserica Kretzulescu", it's about equal. - Jmabel | Talk 16:57, 1 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free media (Image:Cfa.gif)

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Cfa.gif. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 05:03, 12 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The article Partizan (band) has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Does not appear to meet the notability guidelines for bands. Please add reliable secondary sources to prove otherwise.

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{dated prod}} will stop the Proposed Deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The Speedy Deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and Articles for Deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. June 2012

[edit]

Hi, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you recently tried to give Copşa Mică works a different title by copying its content and pasting either the same content, or an edited version of it, into Copșa Mică works. This is known as a "cut and paste move", and it is undesirable because it splits the page history, which is needed for attribution and various other purposes. Instead, the software used by Wikipedia has a feature that allows pages to be moved to a new title together with their edit history.

In most cases, once your account is four days old and has ten edits, you should be able to move an article yourself using the "Move" tab at the top of the page. This both preserves the page history intact and automatically creates a redirect from the old title to the new. If you cannot perform a particular page move yourself this way (e.g. because a page already exists at the target title), please follow the instructions at requested moves to have it moved by someone else. Also, if there are any other pages that you moved by copying and pasting, even if it was a long time ago, please list them at Wikipedia:Cut and paste move repair holding pen. Thank you.  —HueSatLum 23:05, 11 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on File:Pistol Carpati Md. 1974.png requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the image is an unused redundant copy (all pixels the same or scaled down) of an image in the same file format, which is on Wikipedia (not on Commons), and all inward links have been updated.

If you think that the page was nominated in error, contest the nomination by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion" in the speedy deletion tag. Doing so will take you to the talk page where you can explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but do not hesitate to add information that is consistent with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
