ColtCosmo Peer Review
[edit]I feel like you're off to a good start! Here are my suggestions:
- You've done a lot of research into cytoglobin, but I'd stick to adding one or two paragraphs to the article that are focused. From your rough draft, I think you should focus on 1. why it's called a hexacoordinate hemoglobin and how it was discovered. By focusing on these topics it should be easier to find good references.
- When talking about hexacoordination, I think a figure would be very helpful. You can do the more complicated jargon in the figure description, and do a more basic description in the paragraph (I found it hard to track with just words).
- I would probably ditch the possible uses and functions. Because they are still being researched, it might be hard for Wikipedia to include them.

[edit]I finished your peer review in the peer review sandbox. I'll paste it here if you have trouble finding where it is. Lead:
I like the additions that you are planning on adding to the structure, function, and history sections of the article. Just be sure that the lead includes a small summary for each section. The original article doesn't do this very well.
Content:
I like the changes that you are wanting to make. It would be nice if you had just copied the article over to your sandbox since it's only like three small paragraphs, and then added your new information to fit what has already been done on the article. Make sure that you briefly define any new molecule or enzyme (such as HIF-1), so that your reader doesn't get confused. Also, why does HIF-1 being a transcription factor of the gene indicate that cytoglobin is involved in oxidative stress?
Organization:
I believe that you will get your sandbox organized, but for now it seems a little disjointed. I'm sure that it will flow a lot better once you've connected your trains of thought and the different separated facts in labeled body paragraphs.
Sources and References:
I like that every new bit of information has a source. I would recommend that you review the training for adding sources and a bibliography. It would make your sandbox way less messy, and you would be able to just copy and paste when you are done with your edits.
Images and Media:
I think that picture will be a great addition. Just be sure to add a description once you've found one.
Overall Impression:
I think you've got some good new information to add to the article that will help people understand what cytoglobin really is. Just be sure to add it in a cohesive manner and you should have a nice article done! Nice job!TheDutch1313 (talk) 03:34, 8 November 2024 (UTC)

[edit]Here are my final suggestions:
- Your in class presentation of how it is a hexacoordinate heme, how that is dependent on Redox State, and why it tells us more about it's function was fascinating. I would love to see a detailed paragraph about that! If your figure could also be on that I think it would be perfect.
- I noticed that on your research and the cytoglobin main page there is not a source about cytoglobin being found all over the body. I feel like that would be a great source to add.
Those are my two suggestions, but great overall work! ColtCosmo (talk) 03:37, 3 December 2024 (UTC)
