Spamming uni-mannheim.de

[edit]

Please stop adding inappropriate external links to Wikipedia. It is considered spamming and Wikipedia is not a vehicle for advertising or promotion. Because Wikipedia uses nofollow tags, additions of links to Wikipedia will not alter search engine rankings. If you continue spamming, you may be blocked from editing Wikipedia. I don't think that a page like uni-mannheim.de needs a better search ranking. It already is on top. If it was an unknown blog, I would understand the critique. I wanted to add sources to the the informations, now that I know, that university sources are not necessarily considered sources, I always search for external sources. Thank youGiniVanDango (talk) 21:30, 20 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]
The page is already tagged for relying too much on the university website. At this point it is just spamming. Or hell, maybe we should just delete everything and put a link to uni-mannheim.de? That is literally all it is now. It is nothing like a Wikipedia article.
Did you notice that there is nothing negative on that page? Not a single negative thing. In all the decades that this university has been around, there has been no controversies or bad things as far as WP is concerned.
That is what happens when a WP page is hijacked by its subject and sourced almost entirely its to the subject's website, where the subject of course carefully controls its own image. The WP page becomes phony - a fraud - and is just advertising. Jytdog (talk) 22:04, 20 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Edit war warning

[edit]
Stop icon

Your recent editing history at University of Mannheim shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war. To resolve the content dispute, please do not revert or change the edits of others when you are reverted. Instead of reverting, please use the talk page to work toward making a version that represents consensus among editors. The best practice at this stage is to discuss, not edit-war. See BRD for how this is done. If discussions reach an impasse, you can then post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection.

Being involved in an edit war can result in your being blocked from editing—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you don't violate the three-revert rule—should your behavior indicate that you intend to continue reverting repeatedly. Sorry, but then you should have been blocked for a long time, if that's the rule ;-) I'm definitely doing no edit war. Now that I know I will discuss the changes first before I revert or reedit them. Thank you. GiniVanDango (talk) 21:30, 20 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Yes you did and thanks for that. The notice above is to remind you what you should be doing, and should not be doing. Jytdog (talk) 21:59, 20 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]
