Welcome to Wikipedia.

Please note that the Bay Area is called San Francisco Bay Area after the San Francisco Bay; The main reason I reverted your edit was that not only did you add again Los Altos twice, but you broke several links, these changes make it hard for users to navigate the site. Please be aware of the impact of your changes before commiting them, feel free to use the show preview button. Also be aware that many of your changes would be considered controversial, and you should discuss them in the discussion page before doing anything. Thanks for paying attention, I'm not trying to discourage you from making changes to the articles, just to be more careful.

Here are some tips to help you get started:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Good luck, have fun, and be bold! (just don't overdo it) --JVittes 07:29, 21 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Removal of the preeminence of SF is an WPOV issue.

[edit]

Your obvious bias of San Jose over San Francisco, the preeminent city of the SF Bay Area, can continue, but the edits and removal of facts with citations will not stand. The bias is so strong that you would list San Pablo Bay before San Francisco Bay and misrepresent the facts to all readers. Continue this process and an administrator will be asked to intervene. The entire world sees San Francisco as a preeminent world city light years beyond the status of San Jose. Does that mean San Jose does not supersede in some areas? Not at all. But to rewrite sections, removing SF by "slight of word" and demanding preeminence for San Jose where it is not the case is pure bias. Norcalal (talk) 09:54, 13 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Again? Really? Norcalal (talk) 08:51, 28 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

San Francisco Bay Area

[edit]

Please join the conversation at Talk:San Francisco Bay Area#MSA name, CSA name, etc. before continuing to edit-war in the article. Please also familiarize yourself with the policies at WP:3RR and WP:BRD. Many of your edits have merit, but you seem to be getting carried away. TJRC (talk) 00:47, 29 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

3RR warning

[edit]

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on San Francisco Bay Area. Note that the three-revert rule prohibits making more than three reversions on a single page within a 24-hour period. Additionally, users who perform several reversions in content disputes may be blocked for edit warring even if they do not technically violate the three-revert rule. When in dispute with another editor you should first try to discuss controversial changes to work towards wording and content that gains a consensus among editors. Should that prove unsuccessful, you are encouraged to seek dispute resolution, and in some cases it may be appropriate to request page protection. If the edit warring continues, you may be blocked from editing without further notice. TJRC (talk) 00:49, 29 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

You have been reported at Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/Edit warring for edit warring. You may want to go there and offer your view of the matter. Binksternet (talk) 01:30, 29 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

No personal attacks

[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, we would like to remind you not to attack other editors, as you did in this edit to Talk:San Francisco Bay Area. Please comment on the contributions and not the contributors. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. You are welcome to rephrase your comment as a civil criticism of the article. Thank you. TJRC (talk) 02:01, 29 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Please do not attack other editors, as you did in this edit at Talk:San Francisco Bay Area. Comment on content, not on contributors. Personal attacks damage the community and deter users. Please stay cool and keep this in mind while editing. Thank you. TJRC (talk) 14:34, 29 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

August 2010

[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia, and thank you for your contributions. One of the core policies of Wikipedia is that articles should always be written from a neutral point of view. A contribution you made to San Francisco Bay Area appears to carry a non-neutral point of view, and your edit may have been changed or reverted to correct the problem. Please remember to observe this important core policy. Thank you. Binksternet (talk) 04:04, 3 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Block warning

[edit]

It seems to me that you are continuing the edit war at San Francisco Bay Area that was reported at WP:AN3:

If you continue to revert the article, without following the advice given to you in the 3RR closure to follow the steps of WP:Dispute resolution, you may be blocked from editing. EdJohnston (talk) 18:38, 3 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Even after this block warning, why did you again perform the same sweeping edits massively changing the SF Bay Area article again here after the community has spoken and stated that you must gain consensus in SF Talk first? Please place ideas for change on the talk page and then wait for consensus to build. The absence of the consensus building process means that your efforts will be reverted again. Norcalal (talk) 18:00, 8 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Ginelli, persisting in making the same content changes in the face of a solid consensus against you will get you blocked. Such action is edit warring. Please stop. Binksternet (talk) 18:33, 8 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Edit warring at San Francisco Bay Area

[edit]
You have been blocked from editing for a period of 48 hours for Edit warring. You are welcome to make useful contributions after the block expires. If you would like to be unblocked, you may appeal this block by adding below this notice the text {{unblock|Your reason here}}, but you should read our guide to appealing blocks first.

With these edits, you continued the fight that was originally reported at the 3RR noticeboard. (See the previous notices on your talk page). Wikipedia is not your personal web site. If you are the minority in this view, you must not continue trying to force its inclusion in the article by reverting. If efforts to persuade others are not successful, you should let it go, and move on to something else. EdJohnston (talk) 19:06, 8 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Stop edit warring at San Francisco Bay Area. You cannot simply wait for two months and then push your same point of view, against consensus. If you continue edit warring, you will be blocked again. Binksternet (talk) 23:59, 5 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Please stop your disruptive editing. If you continue to vandalize Wikipedia, as you did at San Francisco Bay Area, you may be blocked from editing. faithless (speak) 23:17, 7 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

San Francisco vs San Jose. Again? Really??

[edit]

Please resist restructuring the articles or portions of articles with SF references. Your past removal of SF in specific places and replacement with San Jose will not stand. You have been blocked repeatedly for doing so. If you persist an Administrator will be informed and you could risk loss of editing privileges again in the future. Sadly, I doubt you can resist. But you have been informed again. Norcalal (talk) 02:30, 25 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Super Bowl L, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Santa Clara (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Stop icon You may be blocked from editing without further warning the next time you violate Wikipedia's neutral point of view policy by inserting commentary or your personal analysis into an article, as you did at Super Bowl 50. - BilCat (talk) 07:06, 3 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

  • From reading this users talk page, removing San Francisco from links and names appears to be a long-term editing habit for this user, hence high-level warning. It might be time to consider an indef block or outright ban. - BilCat (talk) 07:06, 3 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Please ensure you are familiar with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines, and please do not continue to make edits that appear disruptive. Continued disruptive editing may result in loss of editing privileges. Thank you. Mvcg66b3r (talk) 13:38, 20 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I am from the Bay Area, that is how we refer to the region. Thank you. Ginelli (talk) 14:12, 20 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Ginelli, But the article is titled San Francisco Bay Area. "Bay Area" is just a redirect. Mvcg66b3r (talk) 14:22, 20 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Stop it. There's no good reason to change San Francisco Bay Area to a redirect (Bay Area). You've been warned about redirects before (including breaking them); any more of that and you'll be blocked for disruptive editing. OhNoitsJamie Talk 14:30, 20 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Drmies, Can you revoke Ginelli's talk page access too? Mvcg66b3r (talk) 02:02, 21 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
I can, but I don't yet see any reason to do so. Drmies (talk) 02:03, 21 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Drmies, And you might as well block Spshu, he's just as disruptive. Mvcg66b3r (talk) 02:05, 21 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Since when is this the People’s Republic of Wikipedia? Ginelli (talk) 02:08, 21 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

  • If you do not take this seriously, and if you can't discuss matters in an adult fashion, you don't need talk page access, so please be careful with what you say and how you say it. Drmies (talk) 02:09, 21 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I mean no disrespect; however, people should be able to have reasonable debate and discussion without being silenced. Ginelli (talk) 02:10, 21 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
