Spellings
[edit]Hello. Please do not move articles, or make wholesale changes to articles, without first becoming more familiar with en-Wikipedia's naming conventions. We are all well aware that Quebec City's official name is Québec. However, official names do not dictate usage on en-Wikipedia. We use the names most commonly recognized in the English language, which may or may not be the official names. See WP:CANSTYLE#French names for the guidelines as to how this works in the Canadian context. This approach is not unique to en-Wikipedia; for example, over at fr-Wikipédia, one sees articles such as Varsovie (rather than the official name of Warszawa), Munich (not München), etc. Regards, --Skeezix1000 (talk) 20:22, 23 September 2011 (UTC)
