[edit]Hello, I'm Mattythewhite. I noticed that you added or changed content in an article, Heart of Midlothian F.C., but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so. If you need guidance on referencing, please see the referencing for beginners tutorial, or if you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Reply: I can't access your talk page for some reason. However I've reverted the original in its entirety. The problem is that the existing analysis is based on Tom Devine's works – a fine historian but who nevertheless sees Scotland through the eyes of one born into a Motherwell Irish-Catholic family. West central Scotland sees everything through a sectarian prism, and assumes that the rest of Scotland is similarly obsessed. (Frankly, most of the rest of us don't care.)
The uncorrected analysis was therefore sectarian itself and was bringing Wikipedia into disrepute.
I've lived in Edinburgh for getting on for 70 years. My parents and grandparents did before me. Trust me, Hibs are the Leith team, Hearts the "Edinburgh" one. My parents, born in Leith 1912 and 1914, were Hibs supporters. They would never have supported an Edinburgh team for the same reason you don't support Scarborough: Leith and Edinburgh were separate until 1920.
Just leave it the way I've left it, please. It's correct.
