Your VandalProof Application
[edit]Dear Ghingo,
Thank you for applying for VandalProof! (VP). As you may know, VP is a very powerful program, and in fact with the new 1.1 version release it has even more power. As such we must uphold strict protocols before approving a new applicant. Regretfully, I have chosen to decline your application at this time. The reason for this is that unfortunately you do not yet meet our 250 mainspace edit minimum. Please note it is nothing personal by any means, and we certainly welcome you to apply again in the not too distant future. Thank you for your interest in VandalProof. - Glen TC (Stollery) 10:52, 22 May 2006 (UTC)
PS:
[edit]Please do not remove messages from your talk page. Talk pages exist as a record of communication, and in any case, comments are available through the page history. You're welcome to archive your talk page, but be sure to provide a link to any deleted comments. Thanks. - Glen TC (Stollery) 10:55, 22 May 2006 (UTC)
Your edit count
[edit]You can view your edit count here (note will not work in internet explorer only firefox) - You'll see you have 254 edits however only 182 mainspace edits - this number excludes talk pages (like this one) - The VP minimum is 250 mainspace edits. You're close tho! Try again in a couple of days? - Glen TC (Stollery) 11:42, 22 May 2006 (UTC)
I know this looks like a bad hoax, but some prodding showed Lars Frers is on the program of an annual meeting in social sciences, so it looks like the field, though small does exist. If you still have objections to the article, please tag it with a more descriptive tag. {{db|reason}} allows you to enter a reason why you tagged an article, rather than keeping the person finding the tag guessing. :) - Mgm|(talk) 12:29, 22 May 2006 (UTC)

World Cup thingy
[edit]Certainly, just copy this code onto your page.
{|style="border-spacing:8px;margin:0px -8px" |style="width:38%;border:1px solid #FF0000;background-color:#FFFFFF;vertical-align:top;color:#000"| {|width="100%" cellpadding="2" cellspacing="5" style="vertical-align:top;background-color:#FFFFFF" |- ! <h2 style="margin:0;background-color:#FF0000;font-family:sans-serif;font-size:120%;font-weight:bold;border:1px solid #FF0000;text-align:left;color:#000;padding-left:0.4em;padding-top:0.2em;padding-bottom:0.2em;"><font color="white">'''England: Road to the Finals'''</font></h2> |- |{{User:Philc 0780/WorldCupLeft}} |- ! <h2 style="margin:0;background-color:#FF0000;font-family:sans-serif;font-size:120%;font-weight:bold;border:1px solid #FF0000;text-align:left;color:#000;padding-left:0.4em;padding-top:0.2em;padding-bottom:0.2em;"><font color="white">'''Finals Matches'''</font></h2> |- |{{User:Philc 0780/WorldCupLeft2}} |- |}<!-- Start of World Cup right-column --> |class="MainPageBG" style="width:56%;border:1px solid #FF0000;background-color:#FFFFFF;vertical-align:top"| {| width="100%" cellpadding="2" cellspacing="5" style="vertical-align:top;background-color:#FFFFFF" |- | <h2 style="margin:0;background:#FF0000;font-family:sans-serif;font-size:120%;font-weight:bold;border:1px solid #FF0000;text-align:left;color:#000;padding-left:0.4em;padding-top:0.2em;padding-bottom:0.2em;"><font color="white">'''And all the way!'''</font></h2> |- |{{User:Philc 0780/WorldCupRight}} |- |} |}
though the actual info you see is found on these three pages
So if you don't mind having it the way it is, leave it, but if you want to put your own things in it, or edit them yourself, you will have to create your own pages. If that is what you want, I can help if you need it. Next time post on my talk page, as I don't often check the page you commented on, and it is only intended for constructive stricism of me as a user, and sign your messages with (~~~~). Hope you stay at the project!
And enjoy the world cup! England! Philc TECI 14:42, 24 June 2006 (UTC)
- Oh yeah and if you don't like the edit buttons (I don't) just put __NOEDITSECTION__ as the first thing on the page, it won't show up, but the edit buttons will dissapear. Philc TECI 22:48, 24 June 2006 (UTC)

New Page Patrol survey
[edit]
New page patrol – Survey Invitation Hello Ghingo! The WMF is currently developing new tools to make new page patrolling much easier. Whether you have patrolled many pages or only a few, we now need to know about your experience. The survey takes only 6 minutes, and the information you provide will not be shared with third parties other than to assist us in analyzing the results of the survey; the WMF will not use the information to identify you.
Please click HERE to take part. You are receiving this invitation because you have patrolled new pages. For more information, please see NPP Survey |
Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. New deal for page patrollers
[edit]Hi Ghingo,
In order to better control the quality of new pages, keep out the spam, and welcome the genuine newbies, the current system we introduced in 2011 is being updated and improved. The documentation and tutorials have also been revised and given a facelift. Most importantly a new user group New Page Reviewer has been created.
Under the new rule, you may find that you are temporarily unable to mark new pages as reviewed. However, this is nothing to worry about - most current experienced patrollers are being accorded the the new right without the need to apply, and if you have significant previous experience of patrolling new pages, we strongly encourage you to apply for the new right as soon as possible - we need all the help we can get, and we are now providing a dynamic, supportive environment for your work.
Find out more about this exiting new user right now at New Page Reviewers and be sure to read the new tutorial before applying. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 04:29, 13 November 2016 (UTC)
