Wikipedia:500th language pool
[edit]I hadn't noticed that your initial prediction had been removed from this pool. I suspect the removal was accidental. Feel free to put it back (although personally, I think your more recent predictions are funnier).-gadfium 20:30, 8 February 2006 (UTC)
It's Ok. I think they're funnier to. ~ 08:50, 9 February 2006 (UTC)

Wikifun starts on Sunday
[edit]Hi,
I thought you'd like to know: Wikifun Round 13 starts coming Sunday at 21:00 UTC. -- Eugène van der Pijll 18:28, 16 June 2006 (UTC)
This message has been sent to you because your user page is included in Category:Wake me for Wikifun.
- Thanks for the message, I'll come Monday afternoon (Might seem a bit illogical to you, but is logical to me). ~ 05:34, 17 June 2006 (UTC)
Wikia: AltHistory
[edit]I've commented on your alt-hist God eu Mac (and the funky diacritic that I can't do, and am too lazy to copy-paste, yet I type all this in much more time than it would've taken to do so.) Bo-Lingua/Louisiannan 20:01, 7 July 2006 (UTC)
- Oh, I don't go to Wikia/Wikicities any more, ever since I forgot my password, so... ~ 06:15, 8 July 2006 (UTC)
- You should just sign-up again as Ghelae-v2.0 or something. :) And I've commented again...I'd love to see your thoughts. Bo-Lingua/Louisiannan04:17, 8 September 2006 (UTC)
- Ok then, but I'll still stay IP. Probably. ~ 14:41, 8 September 2006 (UTC)

Transcluded signature
[edit]And I quoth:
- Transclusions of templates and parser functions in signatures (like those which appear as {{User:Name/sig}}, for example) are currently impossible, because the developers have determined them to be an unnecessary drain on the servers. (Any template or parser function you enter will be substituted automatically.) Transcluded signatures require extra processing—whenever you change your signature source, all talk pages you have posted on must be re-cached.
- Signature templates are also vandalism targets, and will be forever, even if the user leaves the project. Simple text signatures, which are stored along with the page content, use no more resources than the comments themselves and avoid these problems.
- Wikipedia:Sign your posts on talk pages
Please don't use transcluded signatures. :] Uncyc has determined the server load to be inconsequential at Uncyc, but en.wp has different rules. Thanks. --Keitei (talk) 01:09, 8 October 2006 (UTC)
Hey. It's me, Crazyswordsman from Uncyclopedia
[edit]I got banned for a week because a shared IP of mine did vandalism. If you look at my contribs, you'll see that I wasn't this person (and you know me by now). Can you do me a favor and get this message to Uncyclopedia:User:Ogopogo because I don't have IRC abilities on my computer? Thanks! Sir Crazyswordsman 04:11, 18 October 2006 (UTC)
- Forget it. I was unblocked. Sir Crazyswordsman 04:44, 18 October 2006 (UTC)
- Ok. *forgets it* ~ 14:45, 18 October 2006 (UTC)
Dr Who Monsters/aliens
[edit]I have seen you edit the Dr Who Monsters/aliens list. My idea is what we should use in my opinion. What do you think? This is an example of what we use. No infoboxes and small picture:
--The Gelth--
The Gelth are a gaseous life form that appeared in the 2005 episode The Unquiet Dead. Their bodies were destroyed in the time war and they travelled to Earth via the rift. They then inhabited dead bodies from a Cardiff funeral parlour where the rift comes out. The Gelth are capable of flying at incredible speed and can also float.
Xdt (talk • contribs)
- Well, it's going to be hard convincing Khaosworks et al. about removing the infoboxes, as they provide a neat summary of the creatures in question, however in many cases having at least a smaller default size for the pics in the infoboxes may help to shrink down the page slightly.
- Personally, I think that we need to collect the ideas for shrinking the page down on the talk page and have a discussion there. ~ 10:25, 31 December 2006 (UTC)
Hello, Ghelae;
When reverting vandalism, please take a moment to leave appropriate warnings on the talk page of the offending user. This not only notifies the user that their behavior has been noticed and that it is inappropriate, but also gives other vandalism fighters a heads up that this user has had problems in the past and makes it easier to block the user. For reference, a list of templates to use can be found at WP:TT. I'm leaving you this note because I observed your revert war with User:Lena1963. Thanks. Neil916 (Talk) 06:37, 7 April 2007 (UTC)
- Oh, okay, next time I'll try to remember. I think I should actually have a look at the warning messages first though... ~ Ghelæ talkcontribs 06:39, 7 April 2007 (UTC)
Adjectives for the planets!
[edit]Hi dude, some guy called Kotra gave me a list of all the adjectives for the planets (you can see them here). It turns out, the adjectives are mentioned in the infoboxes of all the planets articles! Also I found out Ceres doesn't have an agreed adjective, but "Cererean" would be grammatically correct. Thought you'd be interested, Ryan. Ryan4314 03:15, 25 May 2007 (UTC)
Captions
[edit]Why aren't we allowed to use captions anymore? We have done so without any trouble since season 1. 84.71.223.233 17:26, 2 July 2007 (UTC)
- There was some worry about quotes in captions seemingly having the pictures violate fair use, or something similar. I'm not sure where the discussion was, although they might be in the Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Doctor Who archives and/or the talk pages for the Series 3 episodes. If you look through the page histories, you should be able to see several reverts of quotes in captions by many editors. ~ Ghelæ talkcontribs 17:41, 2 July 2007 (UTC)
RGS
[edit]Just curious, do you go to RGS in Guildford? I seem to remember seeing you say that somewhere, but I can't find it. Zaphael 16:32, 5 July 2007 (UTC)
- No. Have you got the wrong user's talk page? ~ Ghelæ talkcontribs 16:35, 5 July 2007 (UTC)
- No, it was you I meant. Sorry, I'm probably getting confused. Thanks anyway. Zaphael 17:29, 5 July 2007 (UTC)
So...
[edit]Why did you abandon us oh mighty Ghelae? Is it because everyone stole your sig? Mordillo
- If I get what you mean, judging by the link in your sig, the answer is no. Why ask after 9 months? I'd completely forgot. ~ Ghelæ talkcontribs 18:12, 19 July 2007 (UTC)
To be honest, we drop messages on your talk page occationaly, and I just realized that you have a wikipedia page today :) Mordillo
- To be even more honest, everyone feels empty and dead on the inside without you around. Actually, that's a lie: it's just that we're all too Uncyclopedia-ish to understand why you'd want to spend all your time with all these stuffy Wikipedians. Cainad
- I don't really spend too much time on Wikipedia, probably about 10 minutes-worth per day, which you'ven now increased by making me reply to a comment. As for your first point, strangely enough, since I've been gone, the List of Weapons that don't exist, but should seems to have become worse, as I had the page on my watchlist and vigorously edited any new entries so they looked good. Last time I looked on the page, a few weeks ago, it was full of spelling and grammar errors, and even some of the good entries on the page had been diced apart and remade into something worse, which isn't good for any encyclopedia, even a parody. ~ Ghelæ talkcontribs 07:16, 6 August 2007 (UTC)

Uncyclopedia
[edit]Please pass this on to admin SPIKE:
To separate some guidance from your talk page into a file called "Fixed Problems," and then QVFD that file, is to try to expunge the fact that you were given the guidance.
You said not to have a page like that so I QVFDed it.
When you find a page that has adopted an American convention, such as the location of the day number at QVFD, do not assume it needs conversion to the British convention. (Or vice versa.)
I just write dates like that. Nowhere on the QVFD policy does it say "Do not write dates the British way."
When you see an "error" in the day's Featured Article, such as an assertion that Brits in distress dial 0800, do not "correct" it either. Because this is a humor wiki.
OK, I didn't know what it meant
Thanks in advance

The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
