Two Mount Pleasant stations in New York
Is there any way you can make sure Mount Pleasant (Metro-North station) and Mount Pleasant Railroad Station won't get mixed up with one another? ---------User:DanTD (talk) 00:11, 14 January 2016 (UTC)
- That's tough. Both are in New York, and both served by the NYC. I suppose you could do Mount Pleasant (Delaware & Ulster Railroad station) but that seems a little "too much." —GFOLEY FOUR!— 02:09, 14 January 2016 (UTC)
- I can settle for just renaming it Mount Pleasant (U&D station), but some administrators and editors have been on a rampant anti-parenthetical crusade lately, that I've been desperately trying to stop. ---------User:DanTD (talk) 14:56, 14 January 2016 (UTC)
Scott Paskoff and Andrew Paskoff
Hello. I am curious to learn why the page for Scott Paskoff was deleted, and the page for Andrew Paskoff is on the verge? We have worked very hard over the years in our careers and have been upstanding contributors to Wikipedia. A colleague of ours who worked to get these pages created in 2008 met all proper guidelines, and we have continued to establish ourselves in the industry.
I'd love to know what happened, and how this can be fixed.
Thank you.
Best, Scott Paskoff — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2602:306:BDF6:8150:F591:C1F3:A312:C143 (talk) 16:11, 22 January 2016 (UTC)

Extended confirmed protection
Hello, Gfoley4. This message is intended to notify administrators of important changes to the protection policy.
Extended confirmed protection (also known as "30/500 protection") is a new level of page protection that only allows edits from accounts at least 30 days old and with 500 edits. The automatically assigned "extended confirmed" user right was created for this purpose. The protection level was created following this community discussion with the primary intention of enforcing various arbitration remedies that prohibited editors under the "30 days/500 edits" threshold to edit certain topic areas.
In July and August 2016, a request for comment established consensus for community use of the new protection level. Administrators are authorized to apply extended confirmed protection to combat any form of disruption (e.g. vandalism, sock puppetry, edit warring, etc.) on any topic, subject to the following conditions:
- Extended confirmed protection may only be used in cases where semi-protection has proven ineffective. It should not be used as a first resort.
- A bot will post a notification at Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard of each use. MusikBot currently does this by updating a report, which is transcluded onto the noticeboard.
Please review the protection policy carefully before using this new level of protection on pages. Thank you.

Two-Factor Authentication now available for admins
Hello,
Please note that TOTP based two-factor authentication is now available for all administrators. In light of the recent compromised accounts, you are encouraged to add this additional layer of security to your account. It may be enabled on your preferences page in the "User profile" tab under the "Basic information" section. For basic instructions on how to enable two-factor authentication, please see the developing help page for additional information. Important: Be sure to record the two-factor authentication key and the single use keys. If you lose your two factor authentication and do not have the keys, it's possible that your account will not be recoverable. Furthermore, you are encouraged to utilize a unique password and two-factor authentication for the email account associated with your Wikimedia account. This measure will assist in safeguarding your account from malicious password resets. Comments, questions, and concerns may be directed to the thread on the administrators' noticeboard. A new user right for New Page Patrollers
Hi Gfoley4/Archives.
A new user group, New Page Reviewer, has been created in a move to greatly improve the standard of new page patrolling. The user right can be granted by any admin at PERM. It is highly recommended that admins look beyond the simple numerical threshold and satisfy themselves that the candidates have the required skills of communication and an advanced knowledge of notability and deletion. Admins are automatically included in this user right.
It is anticipated that this user right will significantly reduce the work load of admins who patrol the performance of the patrollers. However, due to the complexity of the rollout, some rights may have been accorded that may later need to be withdrawn, so some help will still be needed to some extent when discovering wrongly applied deletion tags or inappropriate pages that escape the attention of less experienced reviewers, and above all, hasty and bitey tagging for maintenance. User warnings are available here but very often a friendly custom message works best.
If you have any questions about this user right, don't hesitate to join us at WT:NPR. (Sent to all admins).MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 13:47, 15 November 2016 (UTC)

Do you think semi is still required on Roblox? It's been semi'd since the start of the year and there has been no vandalism from anyone since then, from what I can see. Would PC be more appropriate? Anarchyte (work | talk) 04:22, 14 December 2016 (UTC)
- @Anarchyte: Sorry that I haven't replied until now, but I'm going to just remove protection for now and see what happens. If you notice a steady amount of vandalism, feel free to leave me another note here (or maybe a request at RFPP might be faster ). —GFOLEY FOUR!— 00:38, 28 December 2016 (UTC)
Could you perhaps semi-protect this article. Just to give you a background on this vandal, Boeing 737 was also recently semi-protected due to the same vandal. Thanks. 2601:1C0:103:80F7:CCE:7AA9:CF65:22D0 (talk) 22:45, 30 December 2016 (UTC)
- Yup, as I was asking if there was a way to range block those IPs, another admin protected it. That should work for now. —GFOLEY FOUR!— 22:55, 30 December 2016 (UTC)

Joy of protection templates at Hilarion_Capucci
The page protection template you placed on Hilarion Capucci has this set up:
"pp-30-500"
See: your edit at Hilarion_Capucci
None of those parameters are on the {{pp}} documentation page.
What do these numbers mean, and where can any other editor understand what they may indicate?
Yellowdesk (talk) 17:50, 2 January 2017 (UTC)
- @Yellowdesk: Hi, these numbers are the result of a relatively new protection that has been added to wikipedia. It means to edit the page you have to have 30 days tenure, and at least 500 edits. An Arbitration Committee motion allowed this protection to be used for pages in the Arab-Israeli conflict. See WP:ARBPIA3#500/30. For more on this, you can also see WP:BLUELOCK. —GFOLEY FOUR!— 20:08, 2 January 2017 (UTC)
- Thank you. Yellowdesk (talk) 06:32, 8 January 2017 (UTC)

Biography of Adamir Jerkovic
Hello Gfoley4,
I see you have deleted my draft on biography of Bosnian politician Adamir Jerkovic. Is there a reason for this? I am new to wikipedia and I assumed that the article is not available to others until the first line was deleted and file saved. Could you please let me know if my assumption was correct.
Regards, Miran --Momanovic (talk) 18:47, 3 June 2017 (UTC)
- @Momanovic: I honestly have no recollection of any page on a Bosnian politician. Can you reply with a link as to what this page that was deleted was called? I see no deleted contributions under your account. —GFOLEY FOUR!— 05:31, 4 June 2017 (UTC)

02:02, 30 May 2011 Gfoley4 (talk | contribs) deleted page Adamir Jerković (WP:BLPPROD: Nominated for ten days with no sources present in the article)
So I am contacting you =).
best regards, Miran --Momanovic (talk) 07:47, 4 June 2017 (UTC)
- @Momanovic: Ah, way back I see. The reason this was deleted is that this was a biography of a living person that had no sources on it for at least seven days. See WP:BLPPROD. If you are able to create an article with reliable sources, it can be re-added to wikipedia. —GFOLEY FOUR!— 19:21, 4 June 2017 (UTC)
Regards Gfoley4,
This was a draft that I created on 03.06.2017 and just saved it for the next day to add the references. Now i see the date of deletion was May 30th and probably made a mistake and created empty article then. Could you please advise me on how to recover/recreate the article (and this time i will not save it until all the references have been added.
Thanks in advance, Miran Momanovic (talk) 14:04, 8 June 2017 (UTC)
- @Momanovic: I see you have it created in your user sandbox. After you cleanup and the article and make sure all the references are added, click that blue button at the top. I don't think your article would have any notability concerns. —GFOLEY FOUR!— 01:03, 11 June 2017 (UTC)
@Gfoley4 Yes I have read somewhere online that it is better to do it this way. Thank you for all the info. Regards, Miran Momanovic (talk) 08:59, 11 June 2017 (UTC)

Hi, where did you find the timetable for the NYC water level route that said East Cleveland was the next station east? Cards84664 (talk) 17:07, 27 October 2017 (UTC)
- @Cards84664: Hi, my source would be the Official Guide of the Railways sometime in the 1940s. I cannot verify this from the book again at the current moment, but a google shows that it did exist. —GFOLEY FOUR!— 19:30, 29 October 2017 (UTC)
Here's a doozy, in 1910 and 1921, There were two B&O revenue routes out of Cleveland, the Cleveland-Wheeling via South Brooklyn station, and the Cleveland-Valley Junction, via Brooklyn station. At some point, by 1952, the services flipped, becoming Cleveland-Wheeling via Brooklyn and Willow station. I was going to revert to what you had earlier, but I noticed that by 1952, the service was only Cleveland-Akron via Brooklyn and Willow (The apparent precursor to the CVSR). To make matters more confusing, the route via South Brooklyn is not mentioned in the 1952 book. My brain hurts, help. Cards84664 (talk) 02:25, 15 November 2017 (UTC)

Protection on Albert Pujols
Hello, @Gfoley4:. My name is Eggishorn and I don't believe we've interacted before. I am contacting you concerning the semi-protection on the Albert Pujols article. There are recent semi-protected edit requests to update the statistics and these seem innocuous. You placed this protection over five years ago now, and I am wondering if you agree that it can now be lifted. I am not going straight to RFPP because I thought I should first ask you if there were specif reasons why the vandalism on this article may have been heightened at that time. Thank you for your time.
