Sorry, I didn't understand the last reason for denial when you said "Duplicate Request"? GereonGG (talk) 13:29, 30 April 2023 (UTC)

You filed basically two versions of the same request. And, pro tip: That, and filing requests just to ask questions do very little to endear you to administrators. — Daniel Case (talk) 05:15, 2 May 2023 (UTC)

Hello again, I've re-read the Meatpuppetry/Sockpuppetry section that you directed me to and I'm slightly confused, in the "This section in a nutshell:" it says " for the purpose of coming to Wikipedia and supporting your side of a debate" I could be completely interpreting this wrong but I had never had a debate or arugment with edits on wikipedia nor tried to push any kind of narrative, I was only editing for the sole purpose to add actual useful additional information. In addition to this, "Do not recruit your friends, family members, or communities of people" I was never recruited I joined on my own accord, making a few edits on pages such as Hawkstone Lager which got reverted because I didn't realize the images were copyrighted, I also added a new Flag of New South Wales. I did help make insignia on a page my brother was editing (Karelian National Battalion) because my brother doesn't know how to make logos and stuff yet. If I'm wrong about this could you correct me because I'm certain I'm misunderstanding something here. Thank you for helping me so far with your quick responses, many thanks.GereonGG (talk)

Hello, I know I'm a month or two late appealing, however I was wondering if it's possible I could get an Administrators or Moderators email so that I can possibly send proof such as videos/images that I'm not a sock puppet. My brother Davomme has already sent an appeal however it's been rejected because there isn't any way to prove that me and him aren't the same person which I can understand why since it's probably a common excuse you guys have seen a million times. I meant no harm no harm with what I was doing on this amazing website and would love to be able to continue editing articles. :I would appreciate it if any of you could get back to me with an email where I could potentially show proof. Many thanks. GereonGG (talk) 16:32, 29 April 2023 (UTC)

You seem to be claiming WP:LITTLEBROTHER. Unfortunately, no. That doesn't work. See WP:MEAT. Yamla (talk) 20:31, 29 April 2023 (UTC)

Hello there. Thank you for your fast and quick reply. I sent you an email if that is alright as I would like to potentially give evidence that I am related to him. We share an IP address for that reason. I cou;d potentially maybe record a video of us (me and Davomme) screensharing wikipedia in which you can see different taskbars, different accounts logged in and that we're on different devices. Request reason:
I would like to request that my account is unblocked. Recently for the last couple of months a family member of mine who goes by the name on Wikipedia of "Davomme" was blocked due to sockpuppetry and meatpuppetry, one of those accounts were in relation to me. Me and my relationship with Davomme was not disclosed, and likewise, we both take collective responsibility for failing to disclose any relationships when we edited Wikipedia pages together. Moving forwards we ensure that we learn from this experience and disclose any relationships to adhere to the guidelines of Wikipedia. Davomme was also unblocked under the reason of 'time being served', the administrator stating that it being a minor offensive and two and a half months for a block is reasonably long for a first offense. I apologise and take accountability and responsibility for failing to disclose my relatonship with my relative, and as previously mentioned, will do such next time. Before closing off my request, I would like to provide some evidence incase the previous information is not relevant for my case as well. Me and Davomme have a drastically different amount of edits, myself having less than my relative due to me registering later. The only page we collaborated on was the Karelian National Battalion, a page Davomme created providing a neutral stance. I merely helped out with some graphical illustrations. On our Wikimedia commons account there is arguably a great difference in content, this is only time period though with myself uploading more photographs related to the Second World War whereas Davomme uploaded items that are related to more recent events. I thank you considerably for taking the time to review my appeal and any further help would be much appreciated. GereonGG (talk) 15:22, 12 June 2023 (UTC)

Unblocked on condition to avoid all overlap in editing with Davomme. Seraphimblade Talk to me 22:19, 22 June 2023 (UTC)
- Having handled the Davomme appeal, I'll leave this one to someone else, but noting for the record that I've disabled autoblock as it was affecting Davomme post-unblock. See Special:Diff/1159793758. This action is not a comment on the legitimacy of the block and does not grant permission to evade it. -- Tamzin[cetacean needed] (she|they|xe) 15:37, 12 June 2023 (UTC)
- For the sake of clarity, if you are unblocked, you will, first, be restricted to operating only this account and not having any other account or deliberately editing while logged out. Secondly, you would not under any circumstances be permitted to edit the same thing as Davomme is editing, participate in the same discussion as they are, or the like. Are those clear, and would you agree to do those? Seraphimblade Talk to me 01:10, 16 June 2023 (UTC)
- Apologies for the late response.
- Could you please clarify your answer as I am somewhat confused? In the first part of your response it states that if I am unblocked I will be restricted to operating only on this account, I am naturally obliged to agree with this due to the nature of the Wikipedia guidelines stating that users may only have one account, however, would this cause conflict with the user Davomme? This is due to the fact that we both share an IP address, and both have a different account, does this mean I would have to share an account with Davomme or would this be okay for both of us to have different accounts?
- Secondly, it states that I am not able to edit the "same thing" as Davomme, for example, if Davomme was editing Page A would I not be allowed to edit Page A as well or would that mean I would not be allowed to edit topics that are similar to Page A? I apologise for the confusion that this may have caused, as I am unclear, I would like to make sure I interpret everything you have mentioned to the best of my ability and with absolute clarity before agreeing to such conditions.
- Thank you and apologies for the confusion. GereonGG (talk) 12:11, 18 June 2023 (UTC)
- Basically, it would mean that both you and Davomme can edit, on the presumption that you are indeed different people who use the same network. But, to avoid confusion, you should not have any overlap with what Davomme is doing. If they're editing an article, don't edit it. If they're participating in a discussion, stay away from that discussion. Basically, avoid anything that might look like you're trying to back up or support Davomme (and to the extent possible, vice versa. I of course can't put any actual restriction on Davomme as a condition of unblocking you, but since presumably you know them, at least let them know they should similarly stay away from any places you're participating at). That way, there won't be any future questions of inappropriate collusion between the two since they are technically indistinguishable from one person operating two accounts. That's a good practice for any two editors who operate on the same network; I would do the same if anyone else regularly edited from mine. Does that help to clarify? Seraphimblade Talk to me 15:55, 18 June 2023 (UTC)
- Thank you for the much-needed clarification, it has helped to clear any misunderstanding. If this is the case, I agree to stay away from the same discussions and same pages that Davomme is editing to avoid any future problems. In addition to this, I will outline my relation to Davomme on my User page, and send an email to the Arbitration Committee. Thank you for your assistance, and I will make sure that I comply with Wikipedia guidelines if I am allowed to be unblocked. I would like to further remark that any rule that I break in the future, I will be held accountable for, rightfully so, and I understand that my previous wrongdoings are not tolerated. GereonGG (talk) 16:22, 18 June 2023 (UTC)
- Hello again, I just wanted to further add since I didn't in my original reply agreeing to the terms you laid out to me before, is there anything else I should be aware of or am I technically good to go under your blessing of course? I understand I was told in the past that filing requests just to ask questions won't get me far, however I just wanted to add incase there is anything else I need to be made aware of. GereonGG (talk) 14:48, 21 June 2023 (UTC)
- At this point, I am awaiting feedback from the admin who placed the block. What happens next depends a fair amount on what that may be. Seraphimblade Talk to me 22:11, 21 June 2023 (UTC)
- Thank you so much for your time and for your help in clarifying the conditions.
- I extremely appreciate it and I will make sure I will abide by the guidelines from here on. Once again, thank you and have a great day. GereonGG (talk) 09:20, 23 June 2023 (UTC)

Invitation to an in-person meetup in Mohua / Golden Bay
[edit]Thinking about your summer break? Think about joining other Wikipedians and Wikimedians in Golden Bay / Mohua! Details are on the meetup page. There's heaps of interesting stuff to work on e.g. the oldest extant waka or New Zealand's oldest ongoing legal case. Or you may spend your time taking photos and then upload them.
Golden Bay is hard to get to and the airline flying into Tākaka uses small planes, so we are holding some seats from and to Wellington and we are offering attendees a $200 travel subsidy to help with costs.
Be in touch with Schwede66 if this event interests you and you'd like to discuss logistics. Schwede66 09:14, 13 November 2023 (UTC)
