Levan Songulashvili is one of the most important and significant artist of Georgia. Even several days ago he was nominated for the Georgian Public Broadcaster's grand award The Best Artist of The Year. He deserves and it is important to be an article about the artist on Wikipedia. It should not be deleted. I improved the article and please, check it out and let me know if there is anything else to do. Sincerely, GeorgianArtCenter (talk) 02:07, 8 January 2016 (UTC)GeorgianArtCenter
It will be unfair if you delete the article about the artist or help me to improve it as you wish to keep it on Wikipedia.

--The article has many sources from online magazines, press releases, newspapers. Levan is one of the most well-known artist in Georgia, he got prize by President of Georgia, had received several major awards... On December 31, 2015, he was nominated for The Best Artist of The Year next to Niko Pirosmani, which was great XX century artist. He has exhibitions in and out of Georgia... Levan is a member of Artists Union of Georgia, there are many interviews with the artist in a lots of broadcasting companies and you can find various articles about him in popular magazines and newspapers nationwide. In 2010, there was an article about him in Georgia's Public Encyclopedia...There are lots of papers in Georgian and Russian languages, as well as in English. It is important for Georgian society to have an article about the artist on Wikipedia and it is already a strange fact that we are doubting on it. You can delete it but remember, it will be a big mistake. I expect more from you before you make a final decision. -- GeorgianArtCenter (talk)

- Also just noting here that if you happen to professionally represent or otherwise have a personal or economic relation to Levan Songulashvili (or other persons or topics you write about) you are required by policy to disclose it.·maunus · snunɐɯ· 15:26, 11 January 2016 (UTC)
·maunus, Yes, I know the artist and I have rights on his papers, but it means nothing. It is so simple, he is notable artist in Georgia and all Georgians know that. He has not problem if you delete the article but there are so many foreigner young artists from lots of different countries in Wikipedia and the Georgian artist is one of the masters. So we wanted to have an article about him and prepared everything to put his information there. He is doing his job in studio and if you delete the article he won't care. But the reason that somebody doubts about his notability is not a serious thing. GeorgianArtCenter (talk) 16:15, 11 January 2016 (UTC)GeorgianArtCenter
- In that case you should refrain from making further edits to the article itself. You can provide suggestions for improvements on the talkpage, and you are allowed to participate in the deletion and notability discussion, but the COI policy suggests that you shouldnt add substantial material in an area where you have a conflict of interest. I think that you have demonstrated now, that Songulashvili meets our notability guideline, so it is best to let the discussion run its course. ·maunus · snunɐɯ· 16:28, 11 January 2016 (UTC)
- When you say you have "rights on his papers" what does that mean? Do you hold the copyright of his work? Do you represent him as his gallery or agent (or publicist?). What is the "Georgian Art Center"?--Jahaza (talk) 16:17, 11 January 2016 (UTC)
- When I say I have rights on his papers, it means that I asked him in person to create the article and he agreed. He gave me reproductions and the papers to put here, anyway you can delete the artworks. If not me, other would create the article. P.S. I already changed the name. - Ok, "rights on his papers" suggests something very different in English than an agreement to create the article. In English what you have is a permission to use pictures of his works in Wikipedia then. If you are not financially connected to him, then you do not have a real Conflict of Interest. Being a friend or acquaintance of a biography topic is not a conflict of interest.·maunus · snunɐɯ· 19:18, 11 January 2016 (UTC)
- ·maunus, Exactly! I know him in person and I have permission to use pictures of his works in Wikipedia but you can keep or delete as much as you consider necessary. And I hereby certify that I am not financially connected to him! He is one of the most significant and notable artists in Georgia as I said and proved several times already. There was an idea to create a Wiki article as there are other notable artists from other countries from the same generation. I am a new user here and I learned a lot from you...Thanks a lot for that! I think everything is alright and clear now. TornikeSani (talk) 20:10, 11 January 2016 (UTC)TornikeSani·

- ·maunus, Here is one more, Lela Zurebiani's interview with Levan Songulashvili. The interview starts with the words: "This man has been a hot topic in Georgia for several weeks now"; "has already become a mini-celebrity of sorts"; "Young Georgian Maestro"... Is not it enough to prove the notability criteria?
Georgian Journal: "the first English-speaking news channel in Georgia, provided by the Palitra Media House - the largest independent publishing house in the country. With our brand new internet television site we are proud to serve both English-speaking audiences in Georgia and abroad with breaking stories and with features relevant to the English speaking community." - http://www.georgianjournal.ge/about-us.html P.S. You can delete the photo of the magazine as well, I just wanted to show the truth. Wikipedia needs an article about only notability artists, here it is and it does not matter I would create it or other, it would be created sooner or later. Sorry that I do not know all Wiki rules but for sure I know that the artist meets all the notability criteria. Thanks for your attention! TornikeSani (talk) 17:16, 11 January 2016 (UTC)TornikeSani·
- ·maunus, I think everything is clear and there is no issues anymore. So, what is the verdict? TornikeSani (talk) 22:39, 14 January 2016 (UTC)TornikeSani·
- When an administrator closes the deletion discussion they will decide what the consensus among the participants was.·maunus · snunɐɯ· 23:40, 14 January 2016 (UTC)
Georgian National Encyclopedia
[edit]- Please provide the full publication data for the encyclopedia. If you can take a photo or a scan of the page where Songulashvili's entry is mentioned I think that would go some way to convince the skeptics.·maunus · snunɐɯ· 15:26, 11 January 2016 (UTC)
- I am new user here, so, I do not know much about the policy, but the fact that he was nominated for Georgian Public Broadcaster's awards "The Best of The Year" in Fine Arts means that he is a notable artist. Here is an official source with the clip: http://1tv.ge/projects/sauketeso/?page=nominants&id=184
·maunus, "Sakhelebi" is annual Encyclopedia (since 2002), aimed at the President, government representatives, Georgian and foreign businessmen, politicians, other high officials and those working in the area of culture, as well as at any reader. Volume I comprises key information about Georgia, being interesting for the public, and about country's political, cultural and public life, which is of vital importance. Volume II is dedicated to "business-faces". Check out small information about the presentation of the encyclopedia: http://1tv.ge/en/news/view/11122.html If you have other concerns let me know, but there is no doubts that he is a notable artist in Georgia.
