Miscellaneous
[edit]

We don't link well known words which are not closely related to the article. I reverted your edit to Hard water since neither metal nor plumbing provide much insight into hard water. See WP:OVERLINK for a more thorough discussion. Don't be discouraged though: Appropriate linking is one of the more finely nuanced Wikipedia skills to master. ZnSO4

[edit]

Almost certainly, all forms of zinc sulfate have the same aqueous solubility, when one corrects for the zinc content of the salt. Cheers,--Smokefoot (talk) 13:33, 10 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for your work on the article, but do note that period 5 has 18 elements and loads of periodic trends, and there is more to a period than just its elements. :-) Oh, and you could also try doing similar stuff on period 4 element (quite similar, really). Lanthanum-138 (talk) 05:19, 8 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

It would be better to talk about trends across the filling of the 4d orbitals, than to just blindly steal sections from the elements articles. Sure, you can do some stealing of sections for periods 1, 2 and 3. But after that, it just starts looking like a gigantic wall of text...besides, there's more to a period than its elements. On the other hand, you might find your style for period 5 element more useful on the group articles. :-) Lanthanum-138 (talk) 05:29, 10 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Ok, I understand, thanks for the heads up and the advice, I guess I will try your suggestion on the group articles. By the way, nice user name and page. I could never do something like that to my user page. --Geo7777 (talk) 14:57, 10 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I took the code from User:4/Userpage code, so thanks to 4 for setting it up. :-) Lanthanum-138 (talk) 04:46, 11 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Periodic Table by Quality

[edit]

Do take note that the image can sometimes be quite out of date. WP:ELEM/PTQ is a wikicode version and should contain the most up-to-date class rankings. The image was used up there on the announcements page because it's not possible to resize the table. Lanthanum-138 (talk) 14:34, 14 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Boron group assessment

[edit]

Hi Geo7777, please note that assessments below GA can be done by anyone (WP:GAN and WP:FAC are more formal processes). That said, I loooked at Wikipedia:Version 1.0 Editorial Team/Assessment/B-Class criteria. The first criteria is references and as there are still quite a few unreferenced parts in the article, I do not think it is quite at B class yet. Ruhrfisch ><>°° 12:25, 16 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I'd also like to add that it is not a Biology and Medicine-type article, but Chemistry and materials science-related. Atomician (talk) 15:25, 17 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]
