Ginkgo links
[edit]Hi Geeki,
Welcome to Wikipedia. At Wikipedia there is a policy all external links must apply to (WP:EL). In general, it's better to add content to articles than simply links. Hope this helps, don't hesitate to contact me via my talk page if you need a hand. Welcome again, David. MidgleyDJ (talk) 09:33, 25 June 2008 (UTC)
- Please discuss the addition of this link @ Talk:Ginkgo#Addition_of_link rather than adding it to the article. Cheers, MidgleyDJ (talk) 20:02, 25 June 2008 (UTC)
Ginkgo link, continued
[edit]Hi, Geeki. Regarding this edit, please refrain from promoting your own personal website. A re-read of the guidelines at WP:EL may be helpful. Per your comment, I've removed all other questionable links from the external links section. Typically, the links section is restricted to very few cases. It's also frowned upon to add links to your own website, an act that can be considered advertisement, even if the intention was to only spread information. If that's your cause, then consider adding referenced content instead of links. Help our article grow and become more robust than merely promoting your website.
