User talk:Gdesigner1
Welcome!
[edit]Hello, Gdesigner1, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions.
I noticed that one of the first articles you edited was Glenn Ogura, which appears to be dealing with a topic with which you may have a conflict of interest. In other words, you may find it difficult to write about that topic in a neutral and objective way, because you are, work for, or represent, the subject of that article. Your recent contributions may have already been undone for this very reason.
To reduce the chances of your contributions being undone, you might like to draft your revised article before submission, and then ask me or another editor to proofread it. See our help page on userspace drafts for more details. If the page you created has already been deleted from Wikipedia, but you want to save the content from it to use for that draft, don't hesitate to ask anyone from this list and they will copy it to your user page.
One rule we do have in connection with conflicts of interest is that accounts used by more than one person will unfortunately be blocked from editing. Wikipedia generally does not allow editors to have usernames which imply that the account belongs to a company or corporation. If you have a username like this, you should request a change of username or create a new account. (A name that identifies the user as an individual within a given organization may be OK.)

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your messages on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically insert your username and the date. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or ask your question on this page and then place {{Help me}}
before the question. Again, welcome! Dai Pritchard (talk) 20:17, 10 February 2015 (UTC)

[edit]Welcome to Wikipedia. It might not have been your intention, but your recent edit removed maintenance templates from Glenn Ogura. When removing maintenance templates, please be sure to either resolve the problem that the template refers to, or give a valid reason for the removal in the edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry, as your removal of this template has been reverted. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia, and if you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. Thank you. Hello Dai, is it a conflict of interest to have read Glenn Oguras novel and decide that he may deserve his own wikipedia page after reading up on his life? I feel that this conflict may have been flagged when I chose the wrong(owner) permission for the photo that i uploaded. I assure you that my only association to this person is being the owner of his book. Also is there a way to just undo the article so I can draft it without it staying public with these inconsistencies? Gdesigner1 (talk) 20:27, 10 February 2015 (UTC)
- You seem to be hoping to get Dai Pritchard specifically and I've closed this Help me request as such. I've pinged them to this discussion unless they have notifications turned off in which case you might want to leave them a {{Talkback}} on their talk page. Good luck! —

- (edit conflict) Hello Gdesigner1. If you're not directly connected to the subject, and if you are able to easily write the article in a neutral point of view, then you probably don't have a conflict of interest in the subject. If you simply own a copy of one of his books, I doubt you'll have a conflict of interest.
- If you would like to move your article into the drafts namespace, just let me know and I'll move it into the drafts namespace for you. --I am k6ka Talk to me! See what I have done 21:22, 10 February 2015 (UTC)
- That draft at times reads like a puff piece published by Ogura's PR advisor, and that promotional content at least in part is not supported by the given sources. Usually that happens only to editors who have a stronger conflict of interest than just being readers. The article also offers a surprising amount of unreferenced personal details (that should be supported by reliable sources or removed) for something written by an unrelated editor. So I can see why Dai Pritchard thought you had a conflict of interest. I have turned the page into a draft at Draft:Glenn Ogura so you can work on it at your leisure. - Hi Gdesigner. Huon has correctly guessed why I thought you're related to or connected with Glenn Ogura. You also uploaded a copyrighted PR photo from his website, and asserted permission for its unrestricted use here. So could you clarify please, what your connection is with Mr. Ogura? If the answer is "none", then we need to delete that photo until copyright is straightened out. Dai Pritchard (talk) 21:46, 10 February 2015 (UTC)
