Dear Gauravshah: Hello there! I'm Tristessa, a Wikipedia administrator answering a request by another user on Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard for an administrator to look into the Ramdev article's history. Thanks so much for your help in improving Wikipedia. I'd like to ask that you please refrain from repeatedly reverting other editors' removal of minor changes to Wikipedia articles, as you did at Ramdev. Should your edits on Wikipedia be reverted by another user, please discuss why your proposed version should be kept on the article's talk page (in this case, Talk:Ramdev) or directly with the user who reverted you on their talk page rather than simply reverting or applying the same changes. For more information on consensus forming, please see the policy Wikipedia:Consensus and the essay WP:BRD. If you need more information on Wikipedia's "house style" for article text, you may be interested in reading the Manual of Style. If you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to contact me on my talk page. Cheers, --Tristessa (talk) 18:38, 27 March 2012 (UTC)
Intro changes
[edit]Hello, in regards to the changes I'm making, I'd like to address two questions. I kept reverting to "alternative medicine", linked to the Ayurveda page, for the sake of usability. This is the English-language Wikipedia, and most users will not have familiarity with most Indian words. "Alternative medicine" is, to most users, a much more familiar and useful characterization of Ayurveda, and I will keep reverting to "alternative medicine", unless you have a reason why you feel that using the word "Ayurveda" instead of "alternative medicine" is appropriate.
In regards to the fact that he has become wealthy and notable, I will keep editing the page to reflect that because it is important in understanding Ramdev. He himself has made note of the fact that he is notable. From the New York Time reference, which mentions his agricultural empire, "'I am very powerful,' he averred in an interview. 'The people love me.'" I agree that everyone possesses wealth, and you note that many other people are also wealthy. However, it is important to note that very wealthy people, are very wealthy. Bill Gates' page, for example, notes that he is very wealthy. It is an important fact about him, that should be noted in an encyclopedia entry about him. May I ask why you think the fact that he is very wealthy and notable should NOT be included in the article? Morrowulf (talk) 20:06, 9 April 2012 (UTC)
