A tag has been placed on Filecrunch, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article seems to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable. If you can indicate why Filecrunch is really notable, you can contest the tagging. To do this, please affix the template {{hangon}}
to the page and leave a note on Talk:Filecrunch, explaining how Filecrunch is notable. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself.
Please read the criteria for speedy deletion (specifically, article #7) and our general biography criteria. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Kyra~(talk) 20:16, 28 October 2006 (UTC)
- It is because both Megaupload and Rapidshare both assert the importance of their subjects. From what I can read on Filecrunch, what is there to set it apart from the other dozens of hosing compaines out there? The inclusion criteria for Wikipedia is the notability of the subject, as Wikipedia is not "an indiscriminate directory of businesses, websites, persons, etc" (quoted from WP:NOTE). If you do not wish the article to be deleted, I strongly advise you put the {{hangon}} tag on the article beneath the speedy deletion tag, and then state on the talk page that you plan on satisfying that requirement, and then do so.
Orphaned fair use image (Image:Filecrunchlogo.png)
[edit]Thanks for uploading Image:Filecrunchlogo.png. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable under fair use (see our fair use policy).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you.
