Hi!

[edit]

Hi Ganesh. There are TONNES of vegetarian restaurants in Taiwan! It's heaven for vegetarians in east Asia. The particular restaurant I took the photo in is just south of one of the central stations of Taipei. I forget the name, but the main exit comes out right in front of Nova, a computer center. By walking straight through Nova (30-50 metres) you appear on an alley with two or three vegetarian restaurants. If you turn left then perhaps right at the next intersection, I believe there are more within a one or two kilometre radius. Your friend should study the Chinese character 斋 (zhai), which means something like 'vegetarian for religious reasons'. Most vegetarian restaurants feature this character outside. If you need to find vegetarian food in mainland China, I have a vegetarian china website that may be of some assistance. -- prat 05:39, 17 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]
