Bugger
Hey Ganeshk, can you just check out Raghuji Karande and User talk:Nilnone?
I couldn't find anything notable so I added a notability tag and Nilnone keeps removing it, and then when I left a message on his talk page, he blanked it as if nothing ever happened. --Rsrikanth05 (talk) 15:23, 12 June 2009 (UTC)

Thanks for the Barnstar, I wish some more people had joined in the collarboration work, then it could have more successful. BTW, Kensplanet and myself have moved the Current India COTM templates to talk pages, as last time User Cirt has asked for this.--GDibyendu (talk) 14:13, 17 June 2009 (UTC)
Re : Sacchidananda Bharathi - I Sri_Sacchidananda_Bharati_I
I have added some references to north flowing Vaigai river called as Uttara Vahini and Ganga in Varanasi as well as Triveni Sangam in this article. I have discussed at length in the Discussion page of this article http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Talk:Sri_Sacchidananda_Bharati_I for the rationale behind this. Let me know if this is ok.

Notability Issue
Hello Ganesh, I am a regular contributor on Hindi wiki. We have a article on Indian railways as well as list of trains and similar articels. I recently found on English wiki that the list of Indian railways is facing some notability issue. Can you please let me know if it is permissible/appropriate to have such type of articles. I am afraid with such articles wikipedia would be more of a directory and less of an encyclopedia. Thanks Gunjan (talk) 04:54, 24 July 2009 (UTC)

Proposed deletion of Town Centre Project Area Committee
The article Town Centre Project Area Committee has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
- Not a notable organization.
While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{dated prod}}
will stop the Proposed Deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The Speedy Deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and Articles for Deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Beeblebrox (talk) 18:21, 2 August 2009 (UTC)

Thanks for fixing that, don't know why people make these kind of moves. Also, can you move the talk page back? I believe the talk page requires a delete and move back too. cheers. -SpacemanSpiffCalvin‡Hobbes 22:13, 25 August 2009 (UTC)

- One more request, can you take care of Sitapur in the same manner too? The user has been blocked as a puppet master, so hopefully we won't have this any more. I've done about 8 move backs today, this one was edited after the move, so I can't move back. cheers. -SpacemanSpiffCalvin‡Hobbes

Help needed for Hindi Wiki
We at Hindi wiki are short of contributors with technical know how for creating bots. Do you know how to create a bot for some regular work for maintaining the quality of the wiki. I know there are several on English wiki and I can do a bot request. But generally what happens is people from other countries reply to the bot request and are reluctant to create a bot for a language which they can not even read. So if you have any experience in creating/maintaing any bot please help us. Thanks Gunjan (talk) 10:08, 26 August 2009 (UTC)
Almost done Madhya Pradesh coordinates
Hi Ganeshk! Just wanted to inform you that with some semi-automated conversion and searching, I managed to almost eliminate Category:Madhya Pradesh location articles needing coordinates, barring a handful of towns and villages. It was a painful exercise, but worth it.
The problem with automating the application of the changes is that some articles had the location templates in one format, while others in another. Therefore, I didn't want to risk it. However, for the next state I take up, I'd like to think of a more automated, but smart way.
Thanks for the help and advice! Feels good to see coordinates for almost all MP towns and villages. Now to provide my fingers some rest... :-) = Kumar Appaiah (talk) 23:21, 29 August 2009 (UTC)
- Thanks Ganesh. I was looking through the Python based bots available, and thought I could do this:
-
- Get a list of coordinates for each town, which I do from with a script which uses Yahoo Maps.
- Fine tune the results by cross checking with Google Maps.
- Write the names of cities/towns/villages and their coordinates in a text file.
- - Run replace.py or something similar to smartly eliminate lats, latm, longs, longm and replace latd and longd with the obtained values.
- Do you think this is feasible? If I need to read up something, please do let me know. Thanks in advance. Kumar Appaiah (talk) 06:59, 30 August 2009 (UTC)

Nadars and Mudaliars are fighting
Can you take a look and maybe protect List of Nadars and List of Mudaliars for a bit? A couple of autoconfirmed and a few IPs keep removing on one, adding on another, reverting and all with absurd edit summaries, specifically on the Mudaliar page. Unfortunately, I tried to clean up both pages a while back, and it stuck to my watch list! cheers. -SpacemanSpiffCalvin‡Hobbes 03:47, 1 September 2009 (UTC)
