Information icon Hello, I'm Materialscientist. I noticed that you made a change to an article, but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so! If you need guidance on referencing, please see the referencing for beginners tutorial, or if you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Edgar Thurston

[edit]

Hi, you should not add works of Edgar Thurston to the Kerala Iyers article. The Wikipedia community has taken the view that he is unreliable as a source, as are many other ethnographers of the British Raj era. Wikipedia operates on the basis of WP:CONSENSUS and you cannot really ignore it. Thanks. - Sitush (talk) 10:40, 11 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Sanctions

[edit]

Please read our policies concerning verifiability and reliable sources. I rather think that it might also be worth you reading our policy regarding copyright. And it certainly would be worth reading about edit warring because if you continue in your present style at Kerala Iyers, you'll find yourself blocked from contributing altogether.

You are new here but things like copyright simply cannot be ignored. I think you should try discussing any changes that you want to make on the talk page for the article (Talk:Kerala Iyers) in order to avoid further problems. You'll find people probably more willing to help if you act in a reasonable manner. Thanks. - Sitush (talk) 20:55, 19 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Please read our policies ? Do you work for wikipedia ? Do you discuss before reverting to an older version ? Then how can you expect people who have more information related to a particular topic because of nativity/ related history to abide by your version ?Ganesh.Iyer.1008 (talk) 22:17, 19 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Hello and welcome to Wikipedia. When you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion (but never when editing articles), please be sure to sign your posts. There are two ways to do this. Either:

  1. Add four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment; or
  2. With the cursor positioned at the end of your comment, click on the signature button ( or ) located above the edit window.

This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is necessary to allow other editors to easily see who wrote what and when.

You have got to get to grips with WP:V, which is a Wikipedia policy. Repeatedly reinstating your original research at Kerala Iyers is only going to land you in trouble. - Sitush (talk) 15:12, 3 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

And your material at Iyer was little better. I have said before that sources such as blogspot are not reliable, yet you still reinstated your contribution. You should review the information at WP:RS. Thanks. - Sitush (talk) 14:26, 5 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]
