File permission problem with File:Wolfgang Tillmans - August self portrait, 2005.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading File:Wolfgang Tillmans - August self portrait, 2005.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file agreed to license it under the given license.
If you created this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either
- make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
- Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-enwikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here.
If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-enwikimedia.org.
If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. ww2censor (talk) 03:44, 13 August 2009 (UTC)
Tillmans
[edit]Hello. I see you have done a lot of editing to Wolfgang Tillmans. Like most articles on photographers, this had been very unsatisfactory. It already had a notice demanding reliable sources for the assertions made. However in your series of edits, you added a great number of new assertions without (yet) citing any sources for them. Why should the reader believe any of this stuff? What are the sources of your information?
Compare the list of exhibitions in Chris Steele-Perkins. Each is sourced. Please use this as a model. Thank you. -- Hoary (talk) 13:04, 17 August 2009 (UTC)
Paley
[edit]A large number of your edits have related particular artists to Maureen Paley's gallery. Are you perhaps related to the latter? -- Hoary (talk) 03:23, 5 September 2009 (UTC)

Working on behalf of Paley
[edit]Your edit summary here implies that you are working on behalf of Paley too.
Look, don't do this. If these people want PR, they can pay for it elsewhere. If on the other hand they want to point out mistakes here, perhaps via you, then there are good ways to do that. -- Hoary (talk) 10:56, 10 August 2010 (UTC)
COI noticeboard
[edit]I've brought up the matter on this noticeboard, where you may wish to respond. -- Hoary (talk) 11:15, 10 August 2010 (UTC)
Alternate Accounts
[edit]I wanted to drop by and inform you of Wikipedia's alternate account policy. Briefly, Wikipedia limits its users to one account per person. There are exceptions, but these are somewhat rare. The full policy is outlined here. In accordance with this, two alternate accounts which you have used, User:Eastendarchive and User:Historyandwisdom, have been blocked. Please stay with one account going forward in order to avoid future issues. Thanks. TNXMan 18:23, 23 August 2010 (UTC)
Warnings
[edit]Please do not delete content or templates from pages on Wikipedia without giving a valid reason for the removal in the edit summary. Your content removal does not appear constructive, and has been reverted. Please make use of the sandbox if you'd like to experiment with test edits. Thank you. --Artiquities (talk) 11:51, 1 September 2010 (UTC)
Conflict of interest (2)
[edit]Thank you for declaring an interest as Maureen Paley's legal representative. Please read Wikipedia's policy WP:Conflict of interest. If you would like specific changes to be made, please discuss them at Talk:Maureen Paley. If there is anything libellous, unsourced or demonstrably incorrect, independent editors will implement the required changes for you.
Please also note that when you make multiple changes like that, including merging or splitting paragraphs, the "show differences" function is not able to display succinctly what has changed. It is therefore more likely that other editors will simply revert your work, rather than keeping any parts which might be acceptable in accordance with Wikipedia's policies. - Fayenatic (talk) 17:29, 27 September 2010 (UTC)
File permission problem with File:Sarah Jones.jpeg
[edit]Thanks for uploading File:Sarah Jones.jpeg, which you've attributed to The artist and Maureen Paley Ltd. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file has agreed to release it under the given license.

You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.
If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

Advice regarding making our page more informative and within wiki rules
[edit]Hi,
We are a gallery in the East End of London and would like to make our page more informative. We do not want it for PR but visitors and students who visit us comment that for their studies, the wiki page isn't very helpful as it is. We represent a number of international artists who also have pages that inform people of their work and practice. We would like to list the artists we represent and help people who maybe studying the gallery or the artists. An example of another gallery's page we would like to aspire to is https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Matthew_Marks_Gallery
but we seem to always have problems with our edits.
Is there someone that could help point us in the direction to properly learn about how to make our page without having attempts deleted or reverted because they do not fit the guidelines? Many thanks in advance
