[edit]Hello, Galamity33, welcome to Wikipedia and thank you for your contributions. Your editing pattern indicates that you may be using multiple accounts or coordinating editing with people outside Wikipedia, such as Galamity3 (talk · contribs). Our policy on multiple accounts usually does not allow this, and users who misuse multiple accounts may be blocked from editing. If you operate multiple accounts directly or with the help of another person, please disclose these connections. Thank you. stwalkerster (talk) 17:32, 11 February 2024 (UTC)
- i am just updating my legal name. i was unaware i had multiple accounts on different devices. i am trans and this is a dead name someone keeps reverting. i have the legal documents to prove the name is legitimate. i do not know how resolve this triggering issue. Hi Galamity33! I noticed that you have reverted to restore your preferred version of Trivium (band) several times. The impulse to undo an edit you disagree with is understandable, but I wanted to make sure you're aware that the edit warring policy disallows repeated reversions even if they are justifiable.
All editors are expected to discuss content disputes on article talk pages to try to reach consensus. If you are unable to agree at Talk:Trivium (band), please use one of the dispute resolution options to seek input from others. Using this approach instead of reverting can help you avoid getting drawn into an edit war. Thank you. stwalkerster (talk) 17:33, 11 February 2024 (UTC)

- Can you provide a link to their editorial policy? I'm not clear how this is a reliable source. —C.Fred (talk) 23:11, 11 February 2024 (UTC)
- Because based on https://www.metal-archives.com/content/rules, it is not a reliable source, since it accepts user submissions. —C.Fred (talk) 23:12, 11 February 2024 (UTC)

- Do you know of anywhere we can find published information on EM's name change policy other than here? I see you are an avid user of the platform. dannymusiceditor oops 03:03, 12 February 2024 (UTC)
- @DannyMusicEditor My concerns are broader than that, since the site appears to allow user-contributed material. What editorial assurance do we have that they vet every name of every article, or do they just do it on request? (And then, how do we know they vet the submitter to be sure the documents are about who they claim to be about?) —C.Fred (talk) 04:28, 12 February 2024 (UTC)

Please stop. If you continue to add unsourced or poorly sourced content, as you did at Trivium (band), you may be blocked from editing. A change of the type you are attempting to make must be supported by independent reliable sources. —C.Fred (talk) 05:05, 12 February 2024 (UTC)

- Legal documents are actually to be avoided as sources, per WP:BLPPRIMARY. Quoting the policy:
Do not use trial transcripts and other court records, or other public documents, to support assertions about a living person. Do not use public records that include personal details, such as date of birth, home value, traffic citations, vehicle registrations, and home or business addresses. Where primary-source material has been discussed by a reliable secondary source, it may be acceptable to rely on it to augment the secondary source…

This is your only warning; if you vandalize Wikipedia again, as you did at Trivium (band), you may be blocked from editing without further notice. Alon Alush (talk) 11:43, 12 February 2024 (UTC)
Your recent editing history at Trivium (band) shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war; that means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be, when you have seen that other editors disagree. To resolve the content dispute, please do not revert or change the edits of others when you are reverted. Instead of reverting, please use the talk page to work toward making a version that represents consensus among editors. The best practice at this stage is to discuss, not edit-war; read about how this is done. If discussions reach an impasse, you can then post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection.
Being involved in an edit war can result in you being blocked from editing—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you do not violate the three-revert rule—should your behavior indicate that you intend to continue reverting repeatedly. . —C.Fred (talk) 11:45, 12 February 2024 (UTC)- Additionally, I have escalated this matter to the Biographies of living persons noticeboard to get wider community input on the matter. The thread is found at WP:BLPN#Trivium (band) – a former member may have transitioned gender. —C.Fred (talk) 12:00, 12 February 2024 (UTC)
Please review the policy on multiple accounts
[edit]Be advised that almost immediately after this account was blocked from the two articles in question, a new account was created to continue making the same edits. It is sufficiently obvious in context that the same user is behind both accounts; the new account is blocked for abuse of multiple accounts.
If you want to work with us to try to update the article, please help by trying to find information that is within our policies and sharing it here. If you continue to work against Wikipedia policies, then our hands will be forced as admins, and you will have to be blocked from any participation in Wikipedia—or the Trivium article will be locked down in its current state. —C.Fred (talk) 12:07, 12 February 2024 (UTC)
