Abelmoschus Esculentus' User Scripts
Dear all. Recently, our community lost a dedicated user, Abelmoschus Esculentus (talk). Among their projects were a number of user scripts that they left behind. I (DannyS712) have copied the scripts, and have taken over maintaining them. You currently import one or more of Abelmoschus Esculentus' scripts, and I thought that you might want to import a maintained version. Links to each script are provided below.
If you have any questions, please reach out and talk to me. --DannyS712 (talk) 00:30, 4 March 2019 (UTC)
Message from LarryBirdFTW
I have no idea how to message, I am a new account. My edit was true Bill was known to roll defenders ankles, clotheline power forwards and purposely tried to hide these things, if that's not dirty what is? p.s Larry Bird FTW — Preceding unsigned comment added by LarryBirdFTW (talk • contribs) 21:03, 1 March 2019 (UTC)
- LarryBirdFTW, it may very well be dirty, but at Wikipedia we need to stay neutral. "Dirty" isn't a neutral word—it implies that that his behavior was bad. We might instead say that "many people considered his play to be dirty," because then it's not wikipedia's opinion but wikipedia explaining someone else's opinion. Even then, make sure that you can cite a reliable source showing that that's a popular opinion. Gaelan 💬✏️ 03:00, 2 March 2019 (UTC)
Whatever, I do respect how professional you are being but if Larry Bird holds a grudge against Bill Laimbeer I will do all in my power for the public to paint him in a bad light. Larry Bird or death, but thx. — Preceding unsigned comment added by LarryBirdFTW (talk • contribs) 20:36, 4 March 2019 (UTC)
Sorry!
Here's a trophy for the issue! | |
I'm sorry about that unconstructive stuff, my IP was shared because its a school IP, so I made an account! My school was blocked from edits because of vandalism, so I'm not sure how it happened... Hexaga (talk) 16:53, 6 March 2019 (UTC) |
Please participate to the talk pages consultation
Hello
Our team at the Wikimedia Foundation is working on a project to improve the ease-of-use and productivity of wiki talk pages. As a Teahouse host, I can imagine you’ve run into challenges explaining talk pages to first-time participants.
We want all contributors to be able to talk to each other on the wikis – to ask questions, to resolve differences, to organize projects and to make decisions. Communication is essential for the depth and quality of our content, and the health of our communities. We're currently leading a global consultation on how to improve talk pages, and we're looking for people that can report on their experiences using (or helping other people to use) wiki talk pages. We'd like to invite you to participate in the consultation, and invite new users to join too.
We thank you in advance for your participation and your help.

You wrote "I don't see anything on their site about the new name—where'd you hear that it changed?" You won't do, because no company is going to pay to stick up signs all around Ashford International station and change their name a week later. It's vandalism. Ritchie333 (talk) (cont) 17:01, 12 March 2019 (UTC)
- Ritchie333, not vandalism—maybe very confused, but I'm having trouble seeing any reason not to AGF. Gaelan 💬✏️ 18:07, 12 March 2019 (UTC)
- Gaelan & Ritchie333 - The business have released their re-brand (https://twitter.com/CuriousBrewing/status/1105811700337573890) today across all of their social accounts, the company is changing its name to Curious Brewing and have the signage at Ashford international for the next year through a contract with JC Decaux. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Carnock2019 (talk • contribs) March 13, 2019 (UTC)
- Carnock2019, thanks, I've fixed the article. Sorry about the trouble—it's just hard to tell if there's any basis to something like this. Gaelan 💬✏️ 18:57, 13 March 2019 (UTC)

sorry
Hello gaelan. Sorry about the bricks thing. I just didn't know what it was called. I am not a vandalizer/disinformer. Sorry about that.
Thatphatguy (talk) 16:15, 18 March 2019 (UTC)
- Thatphatguy, I just took another look, and your edit was fine—sorry, I misread your edit and thought it said "walked into into bricks" (instead of "onto"). Gaelan 💬✏️ 16:18, 18 March 2019 (UTC)
Edit
Oh!, I was right! Ok, but your edit looked better than mine. You can leave your edit there if you want. Thatphatguy (talk) 16:21, 18 March 2019 (UTC)

Latest tech news from the Wikimedia technical community. Please tell other users about these changes. Not all changes will affect you. Translations are available.
Recent changes
- The new version of the content translation tool will be used for all new translations. The older version will still be used for translations that were started with it. Most users won’t see any change. More than 80% of the published translations are already using the new version. [1]
Problems
- There was a problem with editing with Safari on iOS. When you wrote an edit summary you couldn't save the edit. This has now been fixed. [2]
- The editing toolbar sometimes disappears when you scroll on iOS devices. This will be fixed soon. [3]
- Wikis can over-ride interface messages on-wiki. A problem meant that sometimes an old versions of any changed messages were shown instead. This included the sitenotice and other important parts of the interface. This was fixed at around 2019-03-22 16:00 (UTC). Logged-out users may still get the wrong message. Purging the page should fix it for them. [4]
Changes later this week
- The new version of MediaWiki will be on test wikis and MediaWiki.org from 26 March. It will be on non-Wikipedia wikis and some Wikipedias from 27 March. It will be on all wikis from 28 March (calendar).
Meetings
- You can join the technical advice meeting on IRC. During the meeting, volunteer developers can ask for advice. The meeting will be on 27 March at 16:00 (UTC). See how to join.
