Hello, I'm Dger. I wanted to let you know that I undid one or more of your recent contributions to Chacma baboon because it didn't appear constructive. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks! Dger (talk) 02:38, 10 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Wiki Assignment 5

[edit]

Hi Gabe, if you have not already could you check your email regarding an urgent problem I'm having with Wiki Assignment 5? Nsavalia23 (talk) 00:14, 17 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Barbary macaque, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Predators (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Suggestions for you, Gabriel

[edit]

Hi, Gabriel.hassler, your recent entry in the Wikipedia (WP) article, Matrilineality, which appears below, has caused me quite a lot of work to correct your entry. So here are my suggestions for you, if you really wish to help WP readers:

1. First, your recent entry in the article Matrilineality almost begs to be in the WP article Matriarchy as well, and you would need to rewrite it accordingly. Your recent entry follows, in quotes:

"==In Animals==

Dominance hierarchies in some primate species, such as wedge-capped capuchins, form along matrilineal lines. In these instances, the social position of daughters, and sometimes sons, are inherited from their mothers."

I've already rewritten your above entry to be scientifically accurate within Matrilineality. I'm sure your instructor, Dr. Joan Strassmann, will verify that my version is more accurate than your original version above, within Matrilineality.

2. Second, hopefully you are already in a good position to find source references (citations) for each of the two sentences in your entry, the same citations within all four articles, Matriarchy, Matrilineality, Dominance hierarchy, and Wedge-capped capuchins. Another WP editor felt that citations or source references are needed by WP readers, at least one source for each of your two sentences within Matrilineality, and I agree with him or her.

And a minor suggestion for your good Userpage: You could correct the spelling of your instructor's surname, in your Userpage, which otherwise was good, I liked it. Or, if the WP article about your instructor actually misspells her surname by having an extra n, then you can help all WP readers by fixing that article.

I would like to again Welcome you to Wikipedia. And please keep up your good work on behalf of our many readers, For7thGen (talk) 22:04, 1 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Chacma baboon GA review

[edit]

Hi Gabriel.hassler, I'm reviewing Chacma baboon now. Have passed most items but there are a few statements that need refs (probably), and I feel the lead doesn't summarize the whole article - we could do with a few paras to cover the habitat, distribution, key behaviors, status as in the article. But a lovely article, very nearly ready to pass - let me know when you've had a look at it. All the best Chiswick Chap (talk) 14:26, 5 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Responding to GA reviews

[edit]

Hey, Gabriel! Just wanted you to know that I think it's pretty awesome that you're going through your fellow classmates' Good Article nominations and editing the articles, based on other editors' feedback. What initiative you have! Keep up the awesome work :) JMathewson (WMF) (talk) 09:04, 24 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
