No need to add the "composer" credits for Allmusic; those are redundant to the songwriting credits on the tracklist. Also, it's probably best to separate the musicians from the technical. Ten Pound Hammer, his otters and a clue-bat • (Otters want attention) 17:21, 29 October 2010 (UTC)

Got 'til it's Gone
stop, I can tell you've never heard a production by J Dilla, or any music by A Tribe Called Quest. Its CLEAR that they produced the record. Everyone in the hip hop community knows this. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Kid-Wave123 (talk • contribs) 06:20, 24 November 2010 (UTC)
then leave it as "uncredited" in page like it was before. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Kid-Wave123 (talk • contribs) 06:27, 24 November 2010 (UTC)
Basically, Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis couldn't have made that beat. Q-Tip, Common, and many other rappers (none of them you would know) stated that DILLA is the producer of the record. LISTEN to the music and you would know who the real producers were. Or you could just tell a moderator. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Kid-Wave123 (talk • contribs) 06:45, 24 November 2010 (UTC)
Of course he wasn't credited, ever hear of being blackballed out of the industry? Do you know anything about music? I've left the official (false) credits alone, I've left the "contest that they are the producers" alone, but now, leave the reputable source (pitchfork) backing my truth, that Dilla and The Ummah are the original producers, —Preceding unsigned comment added by Kid-Wave123 (talk • contribs) 06:59, 24 November 2010 (UTC)
Why do you sound so angry? I let you have two, let me have one. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Kid-Wave123 (talk • contribs) 07:04, 24 November 2010 (UTC)
And the first reference is speaking about the original song, the second is about the remix. He let the music speak for himself and made the record to show everyone what it was about. He died in 2006 of lupus...Please don't deny him of his recognition —Preceding unsigned comment added by Kid-Wave123 (talk • contribs) 07:07, 24 November 2010 (UTC)
Why are you still changing it? Like I said, you're right about them not being officially credited (blackballing), I let you have the "they contested that they were the producers"
Just leave that one alone, its just proof of who most people think produced the record. Are you really that stubborn?..Just leave it —Preceding unsigned comment added by Kid-Wave123 (talk • contribs) 07:15, 24 November 2010 (UTC)
I realize that, but the other reference is about the remix. You're not getting paid for this are you? Then why do this? I'm doing it because I love the music (including Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis' music, although what they did was wrong they are still great)..Dilla didn't get much credit when he was alive, he did a song for 2Pac that went uncredited, he did a song for Janet that went uncredited, many people stole his style (Kanye, Q-Tip, etc)..he didn't get paid for most of the work he did.
At least give him a little wikipedia page —Preceding unsigned comment added by Kid-Wave123 (talk • contribs) 07:24, 24 November 2010 (UTC)
Read that again
"The revenge in question, then, is simply a matter of cranking up those aforementioned trademarks until the source is unmistakable. The bassline congeals, the keyboards are run through a rippling wah-wah, the titular Joni Mitchell loop fades in and out of focus-- it's the difference between a neon sign and a lava lamp."
Also, I'm out here, in the hip hop world, and that is what everyone says. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Kid-Wave123 (talk • contribs) 07:27, 24 November 2010 (UTC)
I'm convinced you know JimmyJam/TerryLewis personally to deny a dead man his proper respect, if not, why are you doing this, do you think hip hop is not real music?. Now you're deleting the official remix part. I've been asking politely, to just leave it alone, if you didn't get where the article said the whole thing about the remix I can break it down for you. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Kid-Wave123 (talk • contribs) 07:39, 24 November 2010 (UTC)
Read.
"the original version of "Got 'Til It's Gone" bears all the hallmarks of the Ummah style: neo-soul electric pianos, subdued kicks paired with prominent snares, and bass that burbles so thickly that it flows instead of pops. But the official production credits name Jackson, Jimmy Jam, and Terry Lewis alone.
The revenge in question, then, is simply a matter of cranking up those aforementioned trademarks until the source is unmistakable. The bassline congeals, the keyboards are run through a rippling wah-wah, the titular Joni Mitchell loop fades in and out of focus-- it's the difference between a neon sign and a lava lamp."
Its not that hard to understand. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Kid-Wave123 (talk • contribs) 08:01, 24 November 2010 (UTC)
Why do you keep deleting the part where it talks about the official revenge remix Dilla made? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Kid-Wave123 (talk • contribs) 08:04, 24 November 2010 (UTC)

He never worked with anyone as popular as 2pac, Biggie Smalls, or Janet Jackson ever again (besides Kanye) but the songs are still great, and the artists are legends in hip hop, sometimes beyond that too, Leonardo Dicaprio's favorite group ever is A Tribe Called Quest, and Drake, Will.I.Am, Pharrell, and Kanyes favorite producer is Dilla .
He had really bad luck I think, he was supposed to work with N'Sync, Jay-Z, and Nas, but it never happened
Some of them are him rapping, some are just beats with no vocals, but most are just production for others. Their all Youtube links but I can get you DL ones if you want. I left out some more real rap stuff he did, like with the Wu-Tang Clan because I'm not sure if you'd like it.
Its kind of different, so its cool if you're not feeling his stuff
Bilal ft Mos Def & Common - Reminisce
D'angelo - Those Dreamin' Eyes
A Tribe Called Quest - Find A Way
Common ft Bilal - Its Your World
Mos Def & Talib Kweli - History
Slum Village - Fall In Love (instrumental + chorus) - Dilla's on the chorus, theirs also a version with verses in between
J Dilla - Time (theirs also one with Drake called "Where To Now" and one with The Roots called "Can't Stop This")
Common ft Erykah Badu - The Light (remix)
J Dilla - Nothing Like This (this song is where Kanye got the inspiration for 808s & Heartbreaks, songs like Heartless and Love Lockdown)
J Dilla - Last Donut Of The Night
A Tribe Called Quest ft Consequence and Faith Evans - Stressed Out
Black Thought (of The Roots) - Reality TV

Re:The Velvet Rope
Hi Gabe, I personally consider certifications and figures found in the Billboard reliable. In my opinion, however, when inserting certifications in a certification table, it's always best to support them directly with the databases of the certifying agencies, but in the case of Denmark, we don't have the luxury of checking certifications prior to January 2001, for Japan, the database begins from 2003 onwards, as for Taiwan, I'm not even sure if they have a database at all. I think you'd be safe to use those certifications found in the Billboard within the article, but you might have editors every now and then questioning them if they are used in the table.--Harout72 (talk) 16:35, 24 November 2010 (UTC)

Please stop countless reverting images have you have done with the Number Ones: Up Close and Personal for the past week. Image reverts are only used to "enhance" the previous image. As displayed in the description, the poster is a promotional item, stating it is promoting the concert in Hong Kong. Replacing with a blank poster is not a promotional item. Also, you are alluding other Wikipedia users that the poster was obtained from the same sources, etc. Furthermore, replacing an image because you "feel" is not better is not acceptable, your personal opinion is not a o plausible reason in Wikipedia.Itsbydesign (talk)
- Hi, Gabe19. The "poster" you are trying to upload appears to be a blank, so I am not certain that it would qualify as an official poster. On the other hand, I do understand your point about the English vs. Chinese text versions of the poster. English is certainly better for the English Wikipedia. I think an upload of this version would be better. Cheers. — CactusWriter (talk) 06:40, 7 January 2011 (UTC)

Madonna sales
Madonna sold, according to the brazilian official Warner Records site, over 280 million of albums and over 160 million of singles, totalizing more than 440 million of records. This is a reliable and official source. More reliable than Irish Independent and The Times. Here is the reference: http://www.warnermusic.com.br/portal/wbartisthome.aspx?5 They say in portuguese: 'vendeu mais de 280 milhões de álbuns e 160 milhões de singles no mundo inteiro', what means in english 'she has sold over 280 million of albums and 160 million of singles worldwide'. Her official website reports that she has sold over 275 million of albums up to December 2009. What is her official album sales and very closer to this 280 million. http://www.madonna.com/news/title/madonna-topselling-female-recording-artist
I didn't change it inflating or without sources. I think the most reliable source is an official source. In this 'best selling artists' list there's a lot of unreliable sources. But in this case, it's too obviously that Warner has the right information.
But I'm not arguing, just tried to clarify things. I'll not change it again, but I really think the sources should be official sources.

Alone
Its premature; a lot can happen to change that before it actually gets released. "A Little Bit Stronger" is at #27 right now and its probably going to keep climbing for another 3 months or longer. Around the time its done as a single is when the follow-up will be announced. For one thing, its not ultimately her decision in the end either; the label might want something else, and since it'll be the summer months and she's already released a ballad, there's a possibility they won't go with another ballad. This album was supposed to come out in late 2009 and FJLALS was intended as its lead single; we see here that things change, and there's already been some uncertainty about this album & its releases in the past. According to Sara Evans, "Alone" will be the third single, so that would mean it won't even be the next single, since only one single has come from the album thus far. For Those About to Rock images
I see, you're one of those who remove an image because it fails some minutiae of semi-legal drivel, despite the fact that it's been there a year and nobody has ever raised an eyebrow at it. It may not show an explicitly different image, but it shows a different cover. Your interpretation of the main picture "displaying equivalent significant information" leads you to think that the image holds no value for anyone else, and the hideous danger of the massive legal action that could ensue means we have to delete it. Or you could just leave it as it is because it shows a different cover, one which is a comparatively rare sight and a point of interest not fully displayed by text, and is doing no harm whatsoever. You know best. Bretonbanquet (talk) 15:36, 16 January 2011 (UTC)
- I've been on Wikipedia for over five years, and like everywhere else in the world, respect is to be earned. I'm well aware that there are editors, and you are one of them, who delete something not because it detracts from an article, but because they've found something in the rules that backs them up and they are able to do it. You could have left it there, but you want to delete it because you can. There's nothing in that guideline that actually defines what kind of image stays and what kind of image goes. There is no concrete wording in it - typical Wikipedia pseudo-legalese. You have decided that because it's simply a matter of reversed colours, that it should go. That's your interpretation of a vague policy. You're not even consistent in it because you edited the Black Ice (album) image without deleting three extra covers that differed solely in the colour of their logos. So you follow the rules as it suits you. It's not a question of a lack of respect, it's about there being different kinds of editors, and it's dispiriting to encounter those who edit in this way. May 2011
Please don't change the format of dates, as you did to Paper Airplane (album) unless there is a valid reason to do so. In general, date formats in articles should correspond to the variety of English that the article is written in. This means that if an article is written about a British or European topic, the day-month-year format should be used, e.g., 12 December 1904. If an article is about an American topic, the month-day-year format should be used, e.g., December 12, 1904. If neither, the dates should be left in the format they were originally written in.
Please also note that Wikipedia does not use ordinal suffixes (e.g., st, nd, th), articles, or leading zeros on dates. For more information about how dates should be written on Wikipedia, please see this article.
If you have any questions about this, ask me on my talk page, or place {{helpme}}
on your talk page and someone will show up shortly to answer your questions. Enjoy your time on Wikipedia. Thank you. EnDaLeCoMpLeX (contributions) • (let's chat) 22:45, 18 May 2011 (UTC)
I am not sure why you had nominated the page for speedy deletion; it's neither incoherent, nor a blatant hoax. (In fact, it cites multiple references.) Yes it is a promo single, but there is NOT enough info to make a notable article out of it. The article needs to be deleted or at least incubated. calvin999 (talk) 19:02, 27 May 2011 (UTC)
- Ah good. It looked like it was aimed at me as it was indented after my comment. It would have been better if you had of specifically stated his name! calvin999 (talk) 19:08, 27 May 2011 (UTC)

Better source request for File:Baby One More Time.jpg
Thanks for uploading File:Baby One More Time.jpg. You provided a source, but it is difficult for other users to examine the copyright status of the image because the source is incomplete. Please consider clarifying the exact source so that the copyright status may be checked more easily. It is best to specify the exact Web page where you found the image, rather than only giving the source domain or the URL of the image file itself. Please update the image description with a URL that will be more helpful to other users in determining the copyright status.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source in a complete manner. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page or me at my talk page. Thank you. Eeekster (talk) 22:17, 28 September 2011 (UTC)
