History
[edit]1970s
[edit]OLOPSC was founded on February 12, 1978 by Sir Dionisio Salvador, Sr., a graduate of Far Eastern University with a course of Architecture. At first, it was just a day-care center hiding from a single roof in a pelota court at Bayan-Bayanan Ave. in Concepcion, Marikina with at least 50 pupils. In 1978, the Our Lady of Perpetual Succor School was established.[1]
The increasing number of enrollees in the succeeding years required the transfer of the school site to rented lots still along Bayan-Bayanan Avenue in Concepcion, Marikina where additional school buildings were constructed.[1]
1980s-1990s
[edit]In 1985, the school was already operating under full government recognition in all three of these courses: Preschool. Grade School and High School.
In 1986, OLOPSS moved to its present location along Gen. Ordoñez Street, on a 3.5 – hectare lot. It is on this site where it proudly stands today not just as a landmark in Marikina but also a comfortable home to its students and its employees.[1]
In 1995, OLOPSS changed its name to Our Lady of Perpetual Succor College (OLOPSC) when it opened its college department. This has now attained government recognition and on its ways to accreditation.
In the years 1996 and 1997, the present School Chapel's construction was finished.[1]
In the Summer of 1999, the OLOPSCians saw the rise of the new two-story building for Grades 1 & 2.[1]
New millenium
[edit]The succeeding school years saw the switching of classrooms with air-conditioning ones as its serves as one of the Silver Jubilee gifts to the school community. Also included were the construction of the new two-story building for the Preschool, the freezing of tuition fees for a year, the reformulation of the school's vision-mission, the revision of the Student Handbook in all departments, and a number of policies to enhance employee benefits.[1]
Recent history
[edit]On August 11, 2005, the whole OLOPSCian community was shocked by the news spreading throughout the campus, the demise of Mr. Dionisio A. Salvador, the founder of the school and its President for 28 years. His death was due to a multiple organ failure that was triggered by his heart condition. The whole OLOPSC community grieved his death and when the day of burying his remains came, lots of the OLOPSCian community joined the Salvador family in giving their goodbyes to Mr. Salvador. His remains are located inside the school's chapel.
On September 17. 2008, as a gift to her 65th birthday, Mrs. Carmen C. Salvador, the school's Executive Vice President for 28 years, was installed as the next President of OLOPS College succeeding his husband.[1]
On February 2008, the school celebrated its 30th or Pearl Anniversary. The anniversary was marked with programs such as Street Dancing competition, variety shows, Family day, and lots of exciting activities. The event was ended with a fireworks display.

OLOPSC hymn
[edit]The OLOPSC Hymn lyrics are as follows:
Our Lady of Perpetual Succor College
Alma Mater So Beautiful
Marching Onward, Moving Forward
For Honor We Should Uphold
With Mary to God We Give
Our Loyalty to Serve
Our Hearts Always Filled with Love
To Proclaim your Noble Goals
Beloved Alma Mater
The Name that Leads our Way to the Light
The Cradle of our Grateful Hearts
We Lift your Name to the Lord
Upheld by his Mighty right Hand
We Rest in His Mercy and Grace
Always ready to Defend
That your Name will forever Shine and Live
