The Legend of Zelda series categories
Hey there, I noticed you're in WikiProject The Legend of Zelda series, and was wondering if you would care to vote regarding The Legend of Zelda series categories, here. Thank you :) Scepia 00:00, 2 July 2006 (UTC)
- Hi. I noticed that you have taken part in the recent discussion about the future of the Legend of Zelda categories. I am just leaving this note to let you know that Proposal 1 (merging all game sub-categories) has been successful, and I will be relisting it at CfD later today. Of the renaming proposals, only option 7 appears to have gained a consensus in support. However, I am going to leave that discussion open a few more days as we have had a related proposal (No. 11) that has not yet been discussed. Please use this time to consider whether you wish to support or oppose the new proposal, or in any way change your previous votes. I will be reassessing the situation at about 18:00, 6 July 2006 (UTC). Road Wizard 20:28, 3 July 2006 (UTC)

A favour to ask relating to WP:Beatles
Would you consider helping out with an important task? We need the comments made earlier migrated. See: Wikipedia_talk:WikiProject_The_Beatles#Help_wanted which discusses the instructions for the task given here: Wikipedia:WikiProject The Beatles/Article Classification/Migrating. It would really help the project out a lot. Feedback on the instructions themselves gratefully received as well. Feel free to ask others for help. ++Lar: t/c 18:22, 4 July 2006 (UTC)

Hi, could you please state where this image was oabtained? (A simple URL in the summary will do) Even though URLs may become redundant at some point as they expire, we can assume good faith as an attempt was made to source them. o/s/p 19:58, 14 July 2006 (UTC)
- It's not likely a URL is available, as I would assume that it's a scan from a physical copy of a book. I don't know, as I wasn't the one who submitted it. However, as one extremely familiar with Zelda 3 material, I can tell you that I've seen the image before, in print, in an official Nintendo document. —Gordon P. Hemsley→✉ 21:56, 14 July 2006 (UTC)

I see no evidence that the image is actually listed for speedy deletion
The Page history feature is a wonderful thing. AlistairMcMillan 06:33, 9 August 2006 (UTC)
- Ah, the one place I didn't look. But still, my edit was perfectly valid, as the fair use information was put in its place. —Gordon P. Hemsley→✉ 17:25, 9 August 2006 (UTC)
Hi Gordon,
Regarding your recent contribution to Andalusian Spanish: putting an accent on the U of andaluz is redundant. The rule of accent marks in Spanish is:
If a word has no accent mark, the place where the stress falls depends on the last letter of the word:
- If the word ends in N, S, or a vowel, stress falls on the penultimate or second-to-last syllable.
- Otherwise, stress falls on the last syllable. This includes the Z case for andaluz. Thus andalúz is redundant.
Notice, for example, Spanish surnames which end in -ez will most often have an accent mark. Take, González. This needs an accent because it ends in Z, falling in case 2 above, but needs to match the same stress as Gonzalo. Then, the same surname but spelled with an S will not have the accent, e.g. Gonzales, and falls in case 1.
Just thought I'd write this to explain why I reverted your change.
Cheers, –Andyluciano 04:33, 18 August 2006 (UTC)
- Shoot, I'm supposed to know that. My Spanish teacher would not be happy if he knew I made that mistake. I wonder if it was the "z" that threw me off.... Anyway, thanks for the explanation. —Gordon P. Hemsley→✉ 04:58, 18 August 2006 (UTC)
- Well, I was going to mention my edit to Spanish dialects and varieties, which I thought surely had to be right, but it looks like I'm 0 for 2. "Silver River" makes a lot more sense to me than "River Plate".... —Gordon P. Hemsley→✉
Hello
Yes it is a quote, an incorrect one, but hey, who gives one - not us "Liverpools!" Vera, Chuck & Dave 21:10, 28 August 2006 (UTC)
- Well, not quite. I mean, yeah, but it's not that bad. George Martin used the phrase "their Liverpool way". He didn't directly call them "Liverpools". Either way, we don't have the liberty to change what came out of his mouth. :) —Gordon P. Hemsley→✉ 03:55, 29 August 2006 (UTC)
- No of course not, I realise now that it was a verbatim quote. But I still want to lob the soft condescending southern swine off The Stick :) Cheers, Vera, Chuck & Dave 15:08, 29 August 2006 (UTC)
- Hi, Gordon. Nice work on The Beatles page. I changed it a bit, but did not denigrate your contribution. It´s wonderful to see somebody making a change that is not only needed, but good. (BTW, I´m sure you have a Yorkshire surname... :) Have fun. andreasegde 15:14, 11 September 2006 (UTC)

Outline
Hi, I saw your request for a third opinion regarding the ongoing dispute on outline. I have provided a third opinion on the talkpage. I agree that your version of the page is the better one, but in the future, you need to explain your position on the article's talkpage rather than just reverting. Thank you, DRK 21:44, 23 September 2006 (UTC)

It is that time of the month again! I've made a start, but I have been out of (Project) circulation recently and am not up to speed with what has been happening. I should be grateful if you could give the 'letter your usual wonderful attention. I'm keeping the Lead Ed seat warm, but if you want it back it is yours for the asking! Apostrophy
No, it´s not me, it´s my friggin´Austrian keyboard. I could copy everything over to Winword, and then back, but it´s a pain. (There are four in the last sentence...) I´ll (fifth one) try and find a way around it. Try this out: üöäÜÖÄ ... wait a minute... I've just found it, and it's working! Thanks, Gordon! --andreasegde 21:30, 6 October 2006 (UTC)

Image:ACDClogo.png and fair use
Hi GPHemsley! Re: [1], the reason it disappeared is because having this logo in an SVG version constituted a fair use violation. Low resolution version of logos are acceptable. High resolution versions are not. That's why the svg version was deleted, and why one should not exist. From the deletion log of the image: "16:36, 27 September 2006 RexNL (Talk | contribs | block) deleted "Image:ACDC logo.svg" (SVG of copyrighted logo. Invalid fair-use claim. (CSD I7))". I've removed your request tag for an SVG version. If you have any questions about this, I'd be happy to answer. All the best, --Durin 14:36, 17 November 2006 (UTC)
- Ah, OK. I went looking for the deletion log, but I couldn't find it. Just out of curiosity, where can I find a link to the log? It's not listed at File:ACDC logo.svg, as far as I can tell, and I didn't know who was the one to delete it until you just told me. —Gordon P. Hemsley→✉ 21:12, 17 November 2006 (UTC)
