Welcome!
[edit]Hello, GL19GL61, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions.
I noticed that one of the first articles you edited was Global Economic Prospects, which appears to be dealing with a topic with which you may have a conflict of interest. In other words, you may find it difficult to write about that topic in a neutral and objective way, because you are, work for, or represent, the subject of that article. Your recent contributions may have already been undone for this very reason.
To reduce the chances of your contributions being undone, you might like to draft your revised article before submission, and then ask me or another editor to proofread it. See our help page on userspace drafts for more details. If the page you created has already been deleted from Wikipedia, but you want to save the content from it to use for that draft, don't hesitate to ask anyone from this list and they will copy it to your user page.
One rule we do have in connection with conflicts of interest is that accounts used by more than one person will unfortunately be blocked from editing. Wikipedia generally does not allow editors to have usernames which imply that the account belongs to a company or corporation. If you have a username like this, you should request a change of username or create a new account. (A name that identifies the user as an individual within a given organization may be OK.)
Here are some pages that you might find helpful:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your messages on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically insert your username and the date. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or ask your question on this page and then place {{Help me}}
before the question. Again, welcome! ukexpat (talk) 18:16, 10 August 2015 (UTC)

I am employed by the World Bank and have created a Wikipedia page that displays the latest global poverty estimates, released in October 2015.
Both the United Nations and World Bank have major publications with related titles (but unrelated subject matter).
The respective Wikipedia pages are:
(UN) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Education_for_All_Global_Monitoring_Report (World Bank) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Global_Monitoring_Report_(World_Bank)
A Wikipedia search for "Global Monitoring Report" redirects to the UN wikipedia page. Ideally, this search should take users to a "disambiguated" page.
Please advise (or assist) on replacing the redirect with "Global Monitoring Report (disambiguation)." GL19GL61 (talk) 16:15, 13 October 2015 (UTC)
- First of all, please take a moment to review the disclosure requirements for paid editing of Wikipedia laid out in the Terms of Use. While the note on your userpage is a step in the right direction, I don't think it formally satisfies the requirements.
- I have proposed both report articles for deletion since neither gave an indication that the reports themselves meet Wikipedia's standards of notability. Neither cited any independent sources, and I rather doubt the reports themselves have been the subject of significant third-party coverage. If either or both reports can be shown to meet Wikipedia's standards of inclusion, we may have to modify the redirect or create a disambiguation page; right now that seems like unnecessary make-work. Proposed deletion of Global Economic Prospects
[edit]The article Global Economic Prospects has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
- No indication that the report itself is notable, no third-party sources.
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Huon (talk) 17:53, 13 October 2015 (UTC)

Global Monitoring Report -- response
[edit]How is this Wikipedia entry -- especially it's data table -- not noteworthy?
1. The report is the single most important source of data and analysis on extreme poverty. The Global Monitoring Report publishes the World Bank's estimates of the number of people globally who live in "extreme poverty." In October, the report announced a new poverty line of $1.90 per day, up from $1.25 per day, garnering hundreds of news articles (https://www.google.com/?gws_rd=ssl#q=%241.90+a+day+poverty).
2. The old $1.25 poverty line is discussed extensively in Wikipedia -- for example, on the "Poverty" page (ranked 624th among all Wikipedia page). Much of the data on the Poverty page is now outdated. I am preparing to correct it, pointing visitors to the Global Monitoring Report table, where applicable.
Huon is correct that the data in the Global Monitoring report is widely sited (in hundreds of news reports), however it's more than just the data. The report itself is a well-know World Bank flagship publication that is widely cited (by name) in news reports and by academics/institutions. A few examples:
