Conflict of interest and username concerns

My apologies for not replying to this earlier. I am new to Wiki and only now understand how to use the talk facility. As you may have seen I did change the name as you suggested. I must however admit to a further transgression. I have been registered for some time with a user ID. When I started to work on the OBCC article, I created a second ID to deal with it. Old Belvedere Cricket Club photos

Hello Fred. OK, there's some (just some) poetic licence!! I started playing for the OBCC in 1953. I am now 75 years old so have been around the club since then. In the early years my father (George Morgan also) actually took photos for the club and I took up the family tradition. I would agree my finger was not always on the shutter (I am in some photos!!). We did however possess all the negatives. Unfortunately they are now lost and all that remains are scans of old framed photos together with scans from a handbook I produced in 1999 for the club 50th anniversary. Talk page posts
[edit]Hi GDMrogan. I noticed a few things about your talk page posts and have a few suggestions which you might want to try out. First thing I suggest is taking a glance at WP:TPG. Nothing that I've seen you post so far has been in violation of any policy or guideline so i'm not trying to worry you. It just helps to avoid problems if you know the basics.
The next thing I suggest is that you try and use indentation when you post. Indentation helps to maintain the flow of a discussion and make it easier for others to follow along. On certain noticeboards or in certain discussion, proper indentation is considered very important almost to the extent that not doing so is considered to be disruptive.
Finally, it might be a good idea to stop trying to use a line break before your signature or between paragraphs. Line breaks and indentation don't work well together when it comes to Wikipedia. So trying to combine the two can make your post look sort of zig-zaggy if you're not careful. Line breaks also create whitespace which can be seen as annoying by some, especially in really active threads with lots of people commenting. You can start a new paragraph by just clicking "enter" and then making sure to add the proper indentation level if necessary. Also, simple added you signature to the end of your post is considered perfectly fine. You don't need to add it on a separate line. Hi. I'm the editor who removed a lot of material from the article.
I didn't do so out of any spite or aggression. If you look at the article history you can see an explanation given with every edit I made. Generally speaking they fall into two categories:
- WP:NPOV (please click through on these links - they're really important to understanding Wikipedia). Wikipedia can't speak in anything other than a neutral voice.
- WP:NOT There are many things Wikipedia is not. It's not a fansite. It is an encyclopedia. If you wouldn't expect information - scores, lists of minor club officials, old photos, to be an encyclopedia, it shouldn't be in Wikipedia.
I'd be happy to discuss these things with you further. Wikipedia is not an easy place to get to grips with, but it is easier if you just remember it's an encyclopedia, not a free web host.
