File permission problem with File:The Europe Prize.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading File:The Europe Prize.jpg, which you've attributed to Council of Europe. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file has agreed to release it under the given license.
If you are the copyright holder for this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either
- make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
- Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.
If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.
If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Diannaa (talk) 14:03, 24 July 2015 (UTC)

[edit]Andy Kaufman edit
[edit]On Andy Kaufman, you added some unsourced info. I'd recommend you take a look at WP:V and WP:OR in case you haven't already, as those are pretty important pages. Let me know if you have any questions. ―Justin (koavf)❤T☮C☺M☯ 21:36, 27 August 2020 (UTC)
Second para under “Origin” here? https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tony_Clifton GAKM (talk) 22:10, 27 August 2020 (UTC)
- GAKM, I'm confused as to what you're asking me. ―Justin (koavf)❤T☮C☺M☯ 06:30, 28 August 2020 (UTC)
- I was wondering whether you would accept this source, which is a Wikipedia article - but in fact on re-reading the “verifiability” rule I see that you’re not supposed to use Wikipedia as a primary source. I’ll keep looking! But I suppose unless Andy Kaufman - or someone close to him - explicitly recognised the debt to Peter Sellers on the record, such a “verifiable” source is unlikely. In which case... despite the (to me) obvious parallels between the two acts, I should probably just drop this! Thanks for keeping me up to the mark. GAKM (talk) 09:07, 28 August 2020 (UTC)
- Gotcha. I know it can be frustrating to know something is true but not have a verifiable way to prove it. :/ ―Justin (koavf)❤T☮C☺M☯ 20:09, 1 September 2020 (UTC)

BBC Far Eastern Relay Station
[edit]Thanks for your additions to the BBC Far Eastern Relay Station article. I was interested that your edit mentions longwave broadcasting from the site in Kranji as I did not hear about that or see any relevant equipment when I visited. I am guessing there would have to have been quite a different antenna system (likely a vertical antenna) for longwave - is there a record of longwave broadcasting here? Hugh Mason (talk) 21:42, 17 August 2024 (UTC)
- Hello Hugh and thank you for the comment. I must confess the mention of long-wave was intended to refer to the Tebrau and not the Kranji site - but even there, it may be incorrect, and as I am not certain I have removed it.
- My late father was the Chief Engineer at Tebrau for some years in the 1970s, and I grew up on the site - but I must confess that my technical knowledge of broadcasting, as a boy then, was woefully limited, and essentially remains so! (rather to my father’s disappointment, no doubt…).
- I thought I recall my father mentioning long-wave at Tebrau, but I could be quite wrong - (and - to be honest - it seems most unlikely if Kranji did not transmit on long wave). Any information - or sources - you might have to clarify this matter would be extremely welcome! GAKM (talk) 21:39, 27 October 2024 (UTC)
