Hello Fylindfotberserk, I would appreciate if you could find some time to look into this article. There may be some issues, but I find no logical reasons behind removing well sourced contents, which are totally relevant and important for the article.Thank you.Chanchaldm (talk) 02:08, 5 April 2022 (UTC)

Hi Fylindfotberserk

People are changing 2.0's budget when it is suitable for them. The actual budget is 400 crores according to https://www.indiatoday.in/movies/story/here-s-the-real-budget-of-rajinikanth-s-2-0-1376123-2018-10-26. If people choose random news articles as reliable source then IndiaToday is a reliable source too. Alltimedevelopment (talk) 21:25, 7 April 2022 (UTC)

@Alltimedevelopment: The link you posted is from 2018. The current citations for budget in the article is from 2019. It is possible that in a year it increased. Anyway, this should be discussed in Talk:2.0 (film) rather than in my talk page. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 08:51, 8 April 2022 (UTC)

Vandalism on the "Punjabis" page

People keep changing the population figures on the "Punjabis" page even though i corrected the figures using official sources such as the census from both countries.

Can you please correct it? MT111222 (talk) 08:30, 17 April 2022 (UTC)

It has been corrected. Thanks MT111222 (talk) 08:32, 17 April 2022 (UTC)

@MT111222: I've this article in my watchlist. So if there is anything unsourced or WP:SYNTH, I'll take care of it. Thanks. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 08:42, 17 April 2022 (UTC)

Outdated information on the "Pakistan" page

On the Pakistan page, it says that Punjabis are 44.7% of the Pakistan Population but that is outdated information from the 1998 census.

According to the most recent (2017 Census), Punjabis are 38.78% of the population.

Please update the “Ethnic groups” part of the “Pakistan” page using the updated statistics from the 2017 Census.

These are the official figures:

Population by ethnic group: www.pbs.gov.pk/sites/default/files//population_census/census_2017_tables/pakistan/Table11n.pdf

Population by ethnic group (percentage):  https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Languages_of_Pakistan

The map on the page above shows the most recent percentages according to the 2017 census.

Here is the Pakistan page:  https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pakistan MT111222 (talk) 12:58, 17 April 2022 (UTC)

@MT111222: It is possible that the ethnic groups and number of speakers would not match, for example, many Punjabis might report their language as Urdu or something else instead of Punjabi, but when it comes to ethnicity, tehy'd identify as Punjabi. On top of that different agencies and years come to play. Since the infobox has separate sections on Regional languages and Ethnic groups with sources (with year), it would be unwise to modify them without a WP:CONSENSUS in Talk:Pakistan, especially since it is a level-3 vital article. I'll move the discussion there for consensus. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 14:05, 17 April 2022 (UTC)

Pakistan Census doesn't ask for the ethnicity. They only ask for native language of the person.

44.7% was the percentage of Pakistanis that wrote down Punjabi as their mother tongue in the 1998 Census.

In the 2017 Census, that dropped down to 38.78%.

You can make a clear comparison because the same question was asked in 1998 and 2017. MT111222 (talk) 14:16, 17 April 2022 (UTC)

Regional languages and Ethnic groups should have the same data because the only question that the Pakistan Census asks is "What is your mother tongue?"

No questions about the ethnicity of the person are asked.

MT111222 (talk) 14:22, 17 April 2022 (UTC)
@MT111222: The source for ethnicity used in the Pakistan article is taken from this CIA link not the census. As you can see there is some discrepancy when it comes to Ethnic groups and Languages. It is 44.7% for the former category and 46 for the latter for Punjabis. Please continue in Talk:Pakistan only so that more editors can understand the situation. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 14:30, 17 April 2022 (UTC)

Punjabis ethnic group

I believe you should change it from “Ethnolinguistic group” to “Ethnic group” as you have done for the “Tajiks”, Uzbeks” and “French” wikipedia pages.

All the sources i’ve seen mention Punjabis as an ethnic group. For example, Punjabis are seen as the largest ethnic group in Pakistan. Ethnolinguistic group is not mentioned anywhere.

Even your own “Pakistan” wiki page mentions Punjabis as an ethnic group.

So i believe you should change it from “ethnolinguistic group” to “ethnic group”.

Link to your own “Pakistan” wiki page which mentions Punjabis as an ethnic group: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pakistan MT111222 (talk) 13:38, 19 April 2022 (UTC)

Ethnic groups

I personally don't see it as reliable but clearly the editors of this wikipedia page do, considering no one has updated the figures on the Pakistan page.

Also, my question is that why are half of the groups labelled "Ethnic groups" and half are labelled "Ethnolinguistic groups"?

For example, Pashtuns, Tajiks and Uzbek are labelled as an ethnic group but Punjabis are labelled as an ethnolinguistic group.

Why?

I believe Punjabis should be labelled an ethnic group. MT111222 (talk) 15:33, 19 April 2022 (UTC)

Tajik, Uzbeks are not South Asian geographically. And Pashtuns natives of Afghanistan which is also considered a central Asian country other than south Asian. This arrangement is for South Asian groups. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 15:36, 19 April 2022 (UTC)

Wikipedia also says Sindhis are an ethnic group.

Sindhis are from South Asia

So why are Punjabis not labelled as an ethnic group? MT111222 (talk) 16:29, 19 April 2022 (UTC)

Messed up in Siliguri page.

Vandalising the Wikipedia page named Ram Prasad Bismil by Lord of Avernusa user name

Hi, Ram Prasad Bismil was born in a brahmin family. I am attaching some proof (https://thewire.in/history/ramprasad-bismil-ideology) but at Wikipedia it is written he was born in Rajput family. They have given reference of Jagran newspaper but jagran newspaper is not a authentic source even lallantop can't be considered authentic. Even you can use this ([1] But a user named Lord of Avernus is constantly vandalising content of Wikipedia. Please look into it Divyanshu4226 (talk) 19:50, 25 April 2022 (UTC)
