Greetings, Fv1209! Thanks for the "thanks" on the El Paso page edits, and for all the recent edits you've been making to that article. Your contributions are noticed and appreciated! Here's a barnstar to recognize all your hard work, not only on the El Paso article, but other Southwestern articles. Keep up the good work! -P shadoh (talk) 15:54, 18 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

That IP that keeps popping up at El Paso

[edit]

Do u think there's any chance that guy might really be acting in good faith? I mean, he keeps removing that same info, but just never gives a clear explanation why. I honestly wouldn't know if he's correct or not, because even though I'm from El Paso, I'm not much of a sports fan, so I'm not really familiar with the local teams. Do u happen to know any more about it than I do? Survivorfan1995 (talk) 06:58, 17 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I am absolutely certain that he is not acting in good faith. He is not correct about his latest edits. The only thing he has been correct on is that the El Paso Patriots left the USL. He is NOT correct that the El Paso Patriots Soccer club has folded. I looked and could not find anything confirming that. I even called their ticket sales and they stated that at this time they are planning on having a season in the summer of 2014. The person I spoke with did admit that there was the possibility of them not having a season this summer however. The El Paso Patriots have been around for over 20 years, even if they have to play in a semi-pro league I expect them to be around for some time. If they cease to exist it would be headline news everywhere in the local media.

If they ever fold and it's "official", I don't have a problem updating that info immediately, but I will not put up with someone who in bad faith vandalizes the El Paso Wikipage which I have worked hard to improve in quality and accuracy. I too am from El Paso and it is a labor of love improving that page. I am almost certain that this individual is a native of Albuquerque based on his historical edits. I strongly suspect that this individual is like some people from that city that have a rivalry with El Paso and feel a constant need to try to feel their city is better. He has unsuccessfully tried to edit material dealing with El Paso's population, the size of the new AAA baseball stadium and the status of the El Paso Patriots. In all of those incidents I have confirmed that he has misrepresented facts. No he is not acting in good faith.Fv1209 (talk) 04:45, 19 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hmm, you're right that he's from Albuquerque; I just geolocated the IP. So yeah, he probably is somebody with a rivalry with El Paso sports teams. Anyway, thanks for all the work u do to improve the El Paso page! Good to know u enjoy it so much! I should really edit it more than I do; I kinda just watch it and the Juarez and Fort Bliss pages because I live here (even though I've never been to Juarez). I like it here a lot. I'll be keeping an eye on that IP and if he strikes the page again, I'll be around to fix it. Hasta la vista! Survivorfan1995 (talk) 05:20, 19 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited El Paso, Texas, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Rose Bowl (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Hello, I'm BracketBot. I have automatically detected that your edit to United States women's national under-20 soccer team may have broken the syntax by modifying 1 "()"s. If you have, don't worry: just edit the page again to fix it. If I misunderstood what happened, or if you have any questions, you can leave a message on my operator's talk page.

List of unpaired brackets remaining on the page:
  • ], [[2012 CONCACAF Under-20 Women's Championship|2012]], [[2014 FIFA U-20 Women's World Cup|2014]])
  • !Years]
