Your recent edits

[edit]

Hello. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. You could also click on the signature button located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. Thank you. --SineBot (talk) 17:45, 3 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Date pages

[edit]

Hello. Please don't overlink years on the date pages as you have done on September 27 and several other date pages. The date pages follow a specific format that is specified by WP:DAYS. Only the first occurrence of a year in a section is to be linked and the years at the end of the entry (birth and death) should never be linked. If you disagree with the format, please discuss it at WT:DAYS. Thanks. -- Mufka (u) (t) (c) 23:27, 3 July 2011 (UTC) Shortcut: WP:OVERLINK Furkhaocean (talk) 14:01, 6 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, I just don't think it makes any sense to link given names without any relevance for the person (despite its a given name), it looks odd and isn't common practice (AFAIK). Maybe you could discuss it at the talk page, I'm open to any kind of WP:Consensus. HerkusMonte (talk) 19:20, 5 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Spacing

[edit]

Can you explain why you've added so much space to Reconnaissance ? (it's not the normal style of WP articles) DexDor (talk) 19:34, 15 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

considered there was some conflict in the layout between text and image, and that the arrangement of text had developed incorrectly creating a neutrality conflict-the aircraft (black and red) image being of U.S.A technology and being used by the armed forces of the U.S.A, therefore excludes neutrality (in my ignorance perhaps (considering the actual usage from trade), although U.S(of America) being a nation at war lends the feeling that the aircraft isn't a shared entity (neutral entity)(which is also supported by the frequency of occurences of the united states of america being placed as -U.S- within articles, although this hasn't arisen out of change motivated by any change in the U.S.A as country(and Germany and Italy for instance are also states united within one country, so omitting america can at times seem an error of neutrality also), to have it within the first part (or introducing )excludes persons who aren't within an american perspective,

was thinking of reducing stress (c.f. this usage of term - Richard Lazarus|(Coping (psychology) biological stressWalter Bradford Cannon(fight or flight response),Hans Seyle(coined term-stress), et al) levels for someone (perhaps myself) who would appreciate a layout with more space, which creates a greater potential for(fractional or otherwise) differential in pace or flow for someone moving through the article,i.e more time to process in perception the information without information overload.see - Alvin Toffler ( he created the term -information overload-) The article has a gallery section which would for myself necessitate some seperation (following the maxim- art is always in a seperate place, althogh they aren't being classed as art there, the title gallery was the lead for that layout) it arose out of a feeling that with so much information now possible in availability(i.e through links) some thinking space allowing for a stop, assists people to avoid the overload possibility, and might be viewed as an inbuilt risk management factor since the need (or greed) for knowledge will be greter than the consideration for cognitive processes. lastly from my own aesthetic response which from looking through the article was stimulated by the powerful(or imposing) images which for some might have a -stand alone- quality. ------------------->Furkhaocean (talk) 09:51, 16 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I'm not sure I follow all of the above (philosophy isn't my specialist subject).
Regarding US bias: A lot of US-specific stuff has already been removed from this article - maybe more should be. Where equally good pics can be found I prefer to use an older non-US (and non-UK) pic to remind people of global/historical context, but most available pics (especially military) are modern US.
Regarding spacing: A bit of spacing is OK, but AFAIK no other WP articles have so much spacing. Do you think this article should have a different style to rest of WP (and if so why?) or do you think the whole of WP should have more spacing ? If the latter you should raise it at WT:MOS before changing articles. DexDor (talk) 10:53, 16 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

better when opening the article the first sight isn't something with some doubt as to the neutrality of, which is meant the aircraft image(neutrality of this image),so that if the reader were to move to somewhere else the 1st sentence combined with the quote is preferred, as the image isn't essential but supports(illustrates) the article while the quote is more about the subject under the heading, which would mean needing some space away from the opening page for the image positiong.also since the reconnaissance activities are dominated by the U.S.A and also more actual production in that sector of industry as is understood by myself,(althougth isn't any images of soviet or Russian aircraft) o.k for aircraft image inclusion (obviously) ----------------------------------->Furkhaocean (talk) 11:33, 16 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

(stand alone meaning (probably) something is good to look at in a seperate place - like, pleasing to the eye, something which is interesting, - oh good to just sit there and think about how great and wonderful the aircraft is for a while without having words creeping into my vision from around the photograph, causing me to think about other things or relevant things leading away from the image appreciation.----------------------------------> Furkhaocean (talk) 11:39, 16 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

article seems too crowded example- if a person were to walk into an art gallery and look at something the area around the painting, is empty (like a white space)so that it is possible to look at those things without thoughts being diverted away to areas other and as there is a painting in the article better allowing to empty space around the painting image and other images of well designed objects or otherwise rather than thinking there is an attempt to

hide something of the meaning (probably not this really) by confusing the person reading the page

not an improvemnt where things like images aren't allowed that space for looking at.--------------------------------------------------------------------------------> Furkhaocean (talk) 11:53, 16 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Excessive linking

[edit]

Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. In your recent edits to Kha (Cyrillic), you added links to articles which did not add content or meaning. Please see Wikipedia's guideline on links to avoid overlinking. Thank you. —Coroboy (talk) 08:53, 22 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

WikiProject Wikify and the future of wikification

Hi! There is an ongoing proposal at the project talkpage concerning the future of wikification, including possible deprecation of the {{wikify}} template which is being discussed at Wikipedia:Templates for discussion/Log/2012 August 10. Your input would be greatly appreciated!
