Notability of Beyond (podcasts)

[edit]

Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Beyond (podcasts), by another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Beyond (podcasts) is an article about a certain website, blog, forum, or other web content that does not assert the importance or significance of that web location. Please read our criteria for speedy deletion, particularly item 7 under Articles, as well as notability guidelines for websites. Please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources which verify their content.

To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting Beyond (podcasts), please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Feel free to contact the bot operator if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot, bearing in mind that this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion; it does not perform any nominations or deletions itself. Welcome to Wikipedia. Everyone is welcome to make constructive contributions to Wikipedia, but at least one of your recent edits, such as the one you made to Podcast Beyond, did not appear to be constructive and has been automatically reverted by ClueBot.

  • Please use the sandbox for any test edits you would like to make, and take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Note that human editors do monitor recent changes to Wikipedia articles, and administrators have the ability to block users from editing if they repeatedly engage in vandalism.

Podcast Beyond

[edit]

Other than restoring the {{primarysources}} tag, which I just did, I don't see where I've undone any changes you made. That said, the lack of independent sourcing is a serious concern; while you're working on the article, please find independent sources that show coverage of the podcast in reliable sources. —C.Fred (talk) 14:58, 8 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Also, bear in mind that you do not own the article. Other editors, such as Hynes22 or myself, are welcome to contribute to the article. That includes removing text that is unsourced (especially if it violates the guidelines for biographies of living people), rewriting the text for style, removing undue weight to a particular section, and flagging article issues to alert other editors to them. Accordingly, it is inappropriate for you to ask Hynes22 to stop making good-faith contributions to the article. —C.Fred (talk) 15:06, 8 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

My apologies for sounding possesive, I recognise that I do not own the article and that my actions may have come across as rude, but it was my feeling that Hynes22's edits were not in good-faith and were acts of vandalism, I see now that I was incorrect and for that I sincerely apologise.--Enzo DeGregorio (talk) 15:57, 8 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

No problem. It's not an infrequent occurrence. —C.Fred (talk) 16:43, 8 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Podcast Beyond Editing

[edit]

I would like to first state my edits were in no way intended to be vandilism as a fan of the Podcast in question I was only trying to remove changes things that were not needed (IE Greg Miller killed Kanye West) However I do apologize I made a terrible mistake in deleting your own edits. I had selected a previous edit rather than the latest one while doing a small edit, removing the word associate from Ryan Clements' title of Editor. I was unable to undo as I had already made another edit before I had noticed the mistake. Though most of the inforamtion throughout the article is factual it is also almost unsourcable. There is a lot of personal info that would have been obtained from listening to the podcast, but sourcing to the particular podcast article in which this information took place is not a third party source, thus not valid. That said there is a place for the Podcast Beyond article as long as it reframes from going too far into the personal or niche aspects of the podcasts and its members. I apologize for costing you time and at your request will no longer edit the page.

Hynes22 (talk) 17:54, 8 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I would like to express my sincerest apologies, Hynes22, after looking in more detial at how you edited the page I realised that your intent was not vandalism, and I greatly apologise for believing that it was. You were right to remove the segment implying that Greg Miller killed Kanye West, that part in question was not of my own addition. I recognise the lack of sources cited in the Podcast Beyond article and I will add sources posthaste where possible, and remove parts of the article that cannot be proved by Wikipedia's standards. I apologise for any rude remarks that I may have made or implied, and I apologise for wasting your time. --Enzo DeGregorio (talk) 18:13, 8 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Apologies accepted though not needed. The only real fault was mine, I should have been more careful while editing. I only hope that the artcle can be better sourced so it won't be deleted. I will be glad to help and find some third party sorces to prevent this from happening. Hynes22 (talk) 19:22, 8 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I must confess I am having trouble finding third party sources referencing the podcast myself, it is proving to be more difficult than I initially expected.--Enzo DeGregorio (talk) 21:40, 10 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

AfD nomination of Podcast Beyond

[edit]

An editor has nominated one or more articles which you have created or worked on, for deletion. The nominated article is Podcast Beyond. We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also Wikipedia:Notability and "What Wikipedia is not").

Your opinions on whether the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome; please participate in the discussion(s) by adding your comments to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Podcast Beyond. Please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~).

You may also edit the article during the discussion to improve it but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate.

Please note: This is an automatic notification by a bot. I have nothing to do with this article or the deletion nomination, and can't do anything about it. --Erwin85Bot (talk) 01:16, 8 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]
