Your user name
[edit]Now this is where global user names get sticky. While this user name is accecptable on German Wikipedia, it's doubtful at best here.-- Deepfriedokra 21:36, 14 January 2020 (UTC)
- Deepfriedokra is right: unfortunately, the username "Funk offiziell" is not compliant with the English Wikipedia's username policy. If you want to continue editing the English Wikipedia, please change your username to something that does not represent your entire organization. A username that represents yourself as an individual at Funk would be acceptable (e.g.
"Jack Smith at the XY Foundation"
). I've shared some information below with some links to suggested reading. — Newslinger talk 23:54, 14 January 2020 (UTC)
Your username
[edit]Welcome to Wikipedia. I noticed that your username, "Funk offiziell", may not comply with our username policy. Please note that you may not use a username that represents the name of a company, group, organization, product, service, or website. Examples of usernames that are not allowed include "XYZ Company", "MyWidgetsUSA.com", and "Foobar Museum of Art". However, you are permitted to use a username that contains such a name if it identifies you individually, such as "Sara Smith at XYZ Company", "Mark at WidgetsUSA", or "FoobarFan87".
Please also note that Wikipedia does not allow accounts to be shared by multiple people, and that you may not advocate for or promote any company, group, organization, product, service, or website, regardless of your username. Please also read our paid editing policy and our conflict of interest guideline. If you are a single individual and are willing to contribute to Wikipedia in an unbiased manner, please request a change of username, by completing the form at Special:GlobalRenameRequest, choosing a username that complies with our username policy. If you believe that your username does not violate our policy, please leave a note here explaining why. Thank you. — Newslinger talk 23:56, 14 January 2020 (UTC)
- Hello Newslinger, thank you for your concern. We are part of the German broadcasting service and produce almost only in German (maybe there is somewhere a translated show or so). Therefore we only use the German Wikipedia. We hope that helps. jwi--Funk offiziell (talk) 20:26, 23 January 2020 (UTC)

Request reason:
Dear JJMC89, we are a German account and we edit in German only. If it satisfies you we will change our description to make that clear. Our Wikipedia account is verified by the German support team: https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Benutzer:Funk_offiziell. If you have any further questions please let us know. Funk offiziell (talk) 14:39, 20 May 2020 (UTC)
Decline reason:
The German Wikipedia allows verified company/role accounts, but the English Wikipedia does not and only allows individuals to have accounts. You will not be able to edit the English Wikipedia from this account, sorry. If you do not wish to edit the English Wikipedia, that's fine - this block will not affect the German Wikipedia (or any others). Boing! said Zebedee (talk) 15:21, 20 May 2020 (UTC)
