Assessment Drive Challenge: WikiProject U.S. Public Policy

The first tagging and assessment drive challenge is starting now for WikiProject United States Public Policy. If you'd like to participate, start using the new assessment system and the project banner to tag and rate articles that are related to U.S. public policy. Leaderboard update question

Dear User:Fschulenburg, I am BoP a Campus Ambassador to Harvard and Boston University. I also frequent the #wikipedia-en-ambassador IRC channel. Earlier tonight ChrisC came in and asked how the leaderboard is updated. I had a look around and couldn't find any obvious information other than the twice weekly update. Is it done manually or is there a bot/script that does this? Do students need to add themselves to a category in order to have their edits tabulated? Thanks so much! Hi BoP, Frank can probably answer this question more thoroughly and accurately, but I'll give it a shot. So far the leadership is being updated manually by pushing out a script every week, but eventually we would like to create a bot that will just do this automatically every week. The users and articles that are included in the script were taken from the course pages, which is why it's so important for the professors and Campus Ambassadors to keep their course page up to date with syllabus information and student/article information.   • Userboxes and profiles - Add an ambassador userbox to your page, and make sure you've added your mentor profile!
  • Be a coordinating ambassador - Pick and class and make sure no students fall through the cracks.
  • New screencasts - Short videos on watchlists and a number of other topics may be useful to students.
  • Updates from Campus Ambassadors - Ambassadors are starting to report on classroom experiences, both on-wiki and on the Google Group.
  • Other news - There's a new on-wiki application for being an Online Ambassador, and Editing Friday #2 is today!
  • Things you can do - This is just a sample; if you're eager for something to do, there's plenty more.
