Assessment Drive Challenge: WikiProject U.S. Public Policy
[edit]The first tagging and assessment drive challenge is starting now for WikiProject United States Public Policy. If you'd like to participate, start using the new assessment system and the project banner to tag and rate articles that are related to U.S. public policy. There's even a small prize for whoever does the most assessment this week.--Sross (Public Policy) (talk) 17:50, 6 July 2010 (UTC)

Merry Christmas!
[edit]The Ceremonies for Christmas
Day (Robert Herrick)
Kindle the Christmas brand, and then
Till sunset let it burn;
Which quench'd, then lay it up again
Till Christmas next return.
Part must be kept wherewith to teend
The Christmas log next year,
And where 'tis safely kept, the fiend
Can do no mischief there. If you don't celebrate Christmas ...
Happy (belated) Hanukkah! Happy Eid al-Adha! Happy Kwanzaa! And of course, Happy Festivus!
May this holiday season bring you the music of laughter, the warmth of friendship, and the steadying hand of love. ☃
Thank you very much! Happy holidays for you and your family as well. --Fschulenburg (Public Policy) (talk) 19:07, 20 December 2010 (UTC)

[edit]Leaderboard update question
[edit]Dear User:Fschulenburg, I am BoP a Campus Ambassador to Harvard and Boston University. I also frequent the #wikipedia-en-ambassador IRC channel. Earlier tonight ChrisC came in and asked how the leaderboard is updated. I had a look around and couldn't find any obvious information other than the twice weekly update. Is it done manually or is there a bot/script that does this? Do students need to add themselves to a category in order to have their edits tabulated? Thanks so much! Basket of Puppies 03:45, 14 January 2011 (UTC)
- Just fessing up to who ChrisC is Epistemophiliac (talk) 03:46, 14 January 2011 (UTC)
- Hi BoP, Frank can probably answer this question more thoroughly and accurately, but I'll give it a shot. So far the leadership is being updated manually by pushing out a script every week, but eventually we would like to create a bot that will just do this automatically every week. The users and articles that are included in the script were taken from the course pages, which is why it's so important for the professors and Campus Ambassadors to keep their course page up to date with syllabus information and student/article information. But Frank can provide more information about all this. Annie Lin (Campus Team Coordinator, Wikimedia Foundation) (talk) 13:54, 15 January 2011 (UTC)
- Hey Annie. It appears I got an answer a few days agohere. I think we ought to ping jeremyb to make said bot/script. Basket of Puppies 05:57, 16 January 2011 (UTC)
