@Example: Syntax

Hi, FrostedPenguin87! Thank you for your great contributions!

I noticed that you have written, at the beginning of a paragraph addressed to someone on a talk page, the following text: "@[[User:Example|Example]]:" (which renders as "@Example:"), with "Example" replaced with the person who you wish to notify. Usually, this is written with Template:Ping or one of its redirects, like so: "{{Ping|Example}}" (which renders as "@Example:"). Using Template:Ping not only makes a "@" sign appear before the person's name and a ":" sign after it, it also sends a notification to the other person, telling them that they have a new message, and telling them where they have a message. I just thought that I should let you know, in case you meant to do this, but were unaware of the existence of the template.
